Data Delay Monitoring Study

Hi,
I just moved back to Seirra from Ninja where I was using an indicator to monitor data delay in 1/100 of a sec and changes color at defined threshold from green to yellow and Red. which is quite useful before placing a trade. The output can be placed anywhere in the chart like time remaining study of Sierra.

In Sierra the delay comes at Top which is difficult to monitor (not eye catching) and doesn't provide much precision especially in the fast-moving markets.

Is the Sierra technical team can make a simple study to mimic the Ninja's indicator. I have attached picture that are self-explanatory.

Thanks

We can make the data delay available through ACSIL and a study can be developed. We will work on the first part of this by adding an ACSIL function to access this field of information.

Sorry, few things regarding the above:

Do I need to update the Sierra chart to new version?
What will be the exact name of the study that I will look for in the available studies?

Thank you,

First, we are not going to be able to get this new release out, until Monday or Tuesday.

You will have to update to the very latest release of Sierra Chart.

There is no study for this yet. It is just an ACSIL function at this time.

I have updated Sierra to pre-release 2451 but couldn't see any different. Is it something that is usable, or a further code needed to utilize ACSIL function. OR.....?

There is more to do. The study like you have in ninja would have to be developed. We have not done that yet.

Looking for this as well. Would have saved a lot of mmoney yesterday when we had 30 sec delay in NQ data feed.

Looking for this as well.
Here is a spreadsheet study solution:
https://www.sawtoothtrade.com/free-stuff-2.html
This study compares NOW() to the 'Last Bar End DateTime' (J41).
It works best is a fast market.

Should it work with number bars? The "Seconds of lag" value increases until candle close. So with 1min interval it goes all the way to 60sec until it restarts from 0. Also I don't get any alerts.

It should, because it compares NOW() to the 'Last Bar End DateTime' (J41), which has no correlation to bar period.
It works for me.

The Data Delay in the chart header shows the exact same lag as the spreadsheet study in post #12.
The advantage with the spreadsheet study is you can set an alert threshold, and you could display the lag in seconds larger, using the Text Display for Study study.
The spreadsheet study could also color the chart background when the lag exceeds the threshold, making the alert very visible.

Also I don't get any alerts.
The comparison of NOW() and J41 now supports milliseconds, in v2, available here:
https://www.sawtoothtrade.com/free-stuff-2.html

The "Seconds of lag" value increases until candle close
You applied it to Chart #2, but you are using spreadsheet Sheet1.
When applying it to a chart other than Chart #1, follow the updated instructions on the website.

A new version of the Lag Alert is now available, supporting milliseconds:
https://www.sawtoothtrade.com/free-stuff-2.html

Lag Alert v2 allows the alert threshold to be set in Fractional Seconds.
