Hi I'm getting inconsistent pricing for various charts with the same symbol. Looking at Nat Gas Dec22 contract (NGZ22-NYMEX); On a candlestick chart on Tues 18th Oct it shows 6.095 as the high and 5.671 as the low. On Market Profile, it shows a Low of 6.150 High 6.569 I think this is something to do with the chart settings/session times rather than the contract, as the profile says that today is Tuesday the 25th, but I've played about with the settings for both and I just can't figure it out. I'm having a similar issue with other products as well. Thanks |

They were (the market profile one was) - I've changed it to non continuous and still the same issue - do you think saving and restarting sierra might help once I've changed to a regular contract? Thanks |

You do not need to save and restart. That will not solve the issue, as there is something underlying the situation that needs to be corrected. Most often when we see something like this it is related to the Session Times. Make sure the Session Times are the same on both charts and that the Session Times do not overlap. You can not set the Day Session from 08:30 to 17:00 and then the evening session from 17:00 to 08:30. Ok so changing the session times has made the prices line up (thanks!), however it's still saying that today is is Wed 26th on the MP chart (candlestick is fine).

That is because a trading day includes the Evening session times from the previous day. In other words, using the hours we specified above, the trading for October 26 2022 started at 17:00 on October 25, 2022 and goes through to 16:59:59 on October 26, 2022. On the TPO chart, it shows the date/time of the start of the TPO, which, if your TPOs are setup to be daily, is the trading day. The reason for the difference is that the Candlestick chart is an historical daily data chart whereas the TPO is an intraday data chart. Keep in mind that the exchanges send the Daily data separate from the Intraday data. The daily data includes the 24 hours of trading for the actual calendar day, whereas the day for the Intraday data is defined by your Session Times. We do see that your Session Times are set to the Calendar day (00:00:00 - 23:59:59), but this would also have to be in the time zone of the exchange to match up the days.
