[User Discussion] - Copy trade across two installs

Hello,

I'm curious if it's possible to request that the trade copier work across multiple installs.
This is very helpful when working with two accounts across two brokers.

I don't believe the feature to be currently included in the copier. If it is, let me know how to make that work.
I'd assume there would show a the accounts from the second install inside the copier settings.

Let me know if it's possible. It's a major asset to the platform with how retail traders are currently using the software.
Thanks,
Andrew

This is not supported.
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

This classic SC response invites me to ask more questions. ;)

No worries.
I have a solution.

Yes, this functionality documented here does not work across installations of Sierra Chart:

@Andrew:
You are not the first one asking for this function to be added. :-)
Apparently there have been plenty of requests in that regard.
When I asked about it here (Trade Copier for Accounts Connected to Different Trading Services?), I was told that it is already on the "requested features" list.
So, it will probably be added in the future; it is just unclear when.

By the way: I've tried the SST copier, and I don't like it for a few reasons. However, I certainly don't want to spoil Frederik's business, so give it a try yourself and see what you think.
(I for one will wait for a solution offered by SC...just hoping it won't take years. :-) )

Thanks for the info!
I'm using the SST study as my work around. Got it working pretty well but I would much rather work with something native to SC, if possible.

I'll keep jamming with this for now and keep my eyes peeled for an update.

Would copying over the trade activity log folder to another installation work for backtesting?

Not that I can see. Best bet would be 3rd party.

I am also using https://www.simplesystemtrading.com/local-trade-copier/

It's great in my opinion. For me it has been stable, fast, and predictable.

I had to add some setup steps to my morning trading routine, but that's just past of the overhead of trading multiple firms.

Pay close attention to the authors recommendations about improving performance.

The only issues I have are related to buy and sell stops moving past their stop on the receivers in fast moving markets, causing them to skip entering the trades.

The software is smart enough to recognize they are out of sync, and stops sending trades to those receivers until the transmitter is flat.

Works very well overall.
