No, that is not true. You can use Sierra Chart with Rithmic, just be aware of the data limitations as noted at the following link:
Rithmic Trading Platform Service: Rithmic Support Policy

You will also find the Setup Instructions on that same page should you wish to connect your Sierra Chart to Rithmic.

I heard that it is the number of characters in the password that may be too long ?

Yes, it could be that the Password is too long, but definitely the Account Name that is assigned needs to be less than 31 characters for Sierra Chart to be able to handle it.

Hello

I have the same issue and i'm pretty sure that's a sierra chart Problem.

i have a TickTickTrader Rithmic paper trading account.
the account work fine on r-trader pro, and it work fine on Quantower, but on sierra chart i have the permission Denied problem.

i've opened 2 tickets with TickTick and Rithmic and they say to check with Sierra.

i'dont know if it's a host configuration problem or something else, could please check with rithmic why there is permission Denied problem with our accounts ?

and this account work fine with sierra, do you think it's a password length problem ?

If you have an account with Rithmic yes it will work with Sierra Chart. Here are the set up instructions:

And yes, the password cannot exceed 31 characters.

Sorry to revisit an old thread. I'm having the same issue with TickTickTrader and SierraChart currently.

Other Rithmic accounts are working fine. This account works in RTrader Pro.

The username is 10 characters, with 4 letters and 6 numbers in format: TTTU888888

Password is 20 characters, mix of numbers, lower and uppercase letters.

Account number is 10 characters long with the format: "TTTC888888"

Account name is 23 characters long with the format, including spaces: "TTTC888888 AAAAA BBBBBB"

Thank you. I did go through that page before posting, and I sent the information to TickTick.

They already reduced my password length, but that did not fix it.

Is there any additional logging I can enable to see what the denial is for?

Unfortunately, that error comes from Rithmic, and all the items we know to try are in the documentation at the link we gave. We do not know of any other things that can be done to resolve the issue.
