Hello, I want to use the risk manager, but not on a "losses only" basis. but on the total benefit of "profit-loss". Is there any way to configure the platform to make this possible? Before placing a trade, my P/L was +$25, including the StopLoss (-$42.50), and the risk manager was at -$50. I placed the trade with a Stop Loss of -$15, but when the price reached -$7.50, it closed the trade, without my SL being touched, nor my P/L being negative. Had the position not been closed by the risk manager, it would have given me my Take Profit" from the last trade. Is there any solution for the Risk management to use the real "Profit/Loss" instead of the sum of losses? Thanks |

If you are referring to the Global Profit/Loss Management tool, then this does take into account the full Profit/Loss for your account. The one thing we want to point out (and this is mentioned in the documentation for the tool) is that you need to have an open Chart or Trade DOM for the symbols that you want to apply to the Global Profit/Loss Management tool. Refer to the following: Global Profit/Loss Management: Functional Description For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hello Yes I am referring to Global Profit/Loss Management I am attaching images of how I have it configured, and the trades I am talking about. In the "Global Profit/Loss Management" I indicate "-$50" of losses. The trades before the last one that closed automatically made a profit of +$23 (71.50 - 17.50 - 15.50 - 15.50 - 15.50). The last trade, the StopLoss was set at -$15, but it was automatically closed at -$7.50 as you can see in the image. Another thing to comment, is that I noticed that in the login screen appears "Use Risk Management Mode", which I understand is to activate the "Global Profit/Loss Management"? (I have not found information about this "Use Risk Management Mode" checkbox). Date Time Of Last Edit: 2022-01-07 09:33:45

Are you certain that the Global Profit/Loss Management closed that trade? What does the "Order Action Source" on the Trade Activity Log show for that order fill? As to the "Use Risk Management Mode", the documentation for this was just updated. Here is the link for this: Trade Account and Risk Management: Setting Sierra Chart to Risk Manager Mode For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

We apologize for the delay. We need to do some documentation updates. There is a line added to the Trade Activity Log when a flatten operation is performed by the Global Loss Management functionality and it shows what the determined daily net loss was at that time. You need to locate that line: Trade Activity Log: Viewing Historical Trade Activity And how that loss is determined is explained in the introduction section here: Global Profit/Loss Management: Introduction Risk Manager Mode is not relevant. So you can see the global loss management functionality determined the loss was -56 at the time based upon the charts maintaining a trade list. The line has: "Daily Net Loss Management:" in the Order Action Source field. You need to understand how this functionality works. Refer to: Global Profit/Loss Management: How Daily Net Profit/Loss is Calculated for a Trade Account Our recommendation is do not use it, unless you fully understand how it works, and you examine ahead of time, the charts used in the calculation through the Trade Statistics for Charts tab: Trade Activity Log: Trade Statistics for Charts (Chart Stats) Tab And you make sure the daily net profit / loss values are all correct. The message clearly shows the charts used in the calculation. Notice where it says in the Order Action Source, for that trade activity log: "Charts". The charts follow it.
