Hi I've just had an error (or what looks like an error) using Sim trading (not the service, just the mode enabled with the tick option in the Trade menu).

I have a daily loss limit of -180. I'm charting ES with MES as the trade symbol but it flattened based on ES. I've attached a screenshot. I had other charts open but all except a chart trading DOM had the option for "Use as trade only symbol" checked.

Is this something to do with being on Sim? This would obviously be a big problem if I was trading live

Thanks

Most likely the issue is that the Currency Value per Tick on that chart is not set correctly:
Chart Settings: Currency Value Per Tick (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu)

We recommend using the Simulated Futures Trading service instead, which uses server-based daily loss management which would not have this kind of problem:

Thanks.

Yes I was using that before I changed live accounts. I'll have to setup another installation and run it there to make using it pain free.

You're right it is that but it's only in the DOM AFIACT. Even with the trade symbol and that "trade only" option enabled, the currency value per tick is still incorrect. I quickly checked with my live account and opened a DOM and the same was true. I'm not going to test more obviously as I'd have to enter orders and hit the limit. So, I'm not sure how this works when you have a Trading DOM rather than a Trading Chart DOM - I've only ever used the latter and had no problems. Anyway, maybe I'm missing something but as I say, quickly looking on a live account and sim it does look like something odd is going on with the non-chart DOM, different trade symbols and currency value.

What exactly do you mean by this:
Even with the trade symbol and that "trade only" option enabled, the currency value per tick is still incorrect.
Is the Currency Value Per Tick not set correctly in the Chart >> Chart Settings in the trading DOM or is it not giving you the result you expect? If it is not set correctly change it to what it should be.

If I need to set it that's fine as long as I know I need to set it. It's not obvious to me that I should have to set it though. Maybe I'm missing some use case but I can't think of a situation where you wouldn't want the price increment (or anything to do with the actual value of the things being charted and traded) to be that of the trade symbol. So I just assumed (dangerous I know) it would be that way.

Anyway, thanks for the help, there's no need to progress this
