Interactive Brokers has launched Crypto trading. I cannot get the symbols to work correctly in Sierra Chart. Can you advise on proper symbol format to load/trade cryptocurrency via IB? Thanks,

Update: Confirmed IB does not yet support Crypto trading via TWS API. If something changes, I'll try and comment back here.

The TWS API 10.10 now supports PAXOS trading. https://interactivebrokers.github.io/tws-api/cryptocurrency.html Does anyone know when Sierra Chart will support trading PAXOS Bitcoin through TWS? Thanks, Troy

There is nothing that Sierra Chart needs to do. You just need to specify the right symbol. Unfortunately no luck so far. I also have tried many different combinations. This link (Interactive Brokers Symbols) doesn't mention anything about trading Crypto (only Futures). There's no mention of the PAXOS exchange or the CRYPTO SecType, so I'm not certain what the format should be in the Find Symbol window. I've tried the other formats (for Stocks, Forex, Futures) but none of them seem to work. Can that page be updated with an example for CRYPTO SecTypes on the PAXOS exchange? This is how IB says the Contract struct needs to be filled out: Contract contract = new Contract(); contract.Symbol = "BTC"; contract.SecType = "CRYPTO"; contract.Exchange = "PAXOS"; contract.Currency = "USD"; This is the instrument description in TWS: Underlying: BTC Security Type: CRYPTO Exchange: PAXOS Symbol: BTC.USD

Thank you for the quick support on this. It looks like Sierra Chart now gets further in the process, but now I see a message saying that the API version is too low. We are not sure if this is referring to the TWS client or server API. If it refers to the TWS client API version it would be a long time before we can update that. This is typically something we only do once every two or three years. We can get to it sooner but not likely for more than several months from now.
