Hello,
I have been trying to figure out why one of my chartbooks will constant freeze the platform.
Looking at the log, I see a message that shows " chart XX tagged for recalculation " Which I use to see all the time however it seems I am getting the message
for all my chart all together constantly even after the recalculation has been performed once.

Basically my system is frozen due to this recalculation need on every chart every 2 mins or less.

Any advice on what is can cause a recalculation over and over ?

Thank you

It sounds like you have a circular reference somewhere. Refer to the following:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.9 References to Other Charts / Continuous Full Recalculation of Charts

Also look through the other items on that same page for other possibilities.

Thank you! I restarted it in safe made and still the case thinking its a custom study issue but not the case.

this indirect circular ref makes more sense.

John I need your help on this again. So I went back to my last 9 chartbook that i made over the last 1 year time period each backing up when i make changes.

Going back to the very first ones i made that had no circular reference or taking over 100% of system memory ever. Every one of them freezes my machine and I think it may have to do with
any recent changes Sierra chart handles loading Market Depth ( historical)

Would loading old mkt depth after loading cause issues of freezing? Just curious before i remove all mkt depth studies and charts.
thank you John for your help

We did make a change to the Market Depth, but that is to allow more Market Depth data to be loaded and not overload the memory. We do not believe this has any impact on what you are seeing. But, it would be best to upgrade to the most recent release to ensure that you have these changes.

You have us curious, in Chart >> Chart Settings there is an entry for Market Depth. What is the value that you have in this field. Refer to the following for the setting we are looking for:
Chart Settings: Maximum Market Depth Data Days to Load (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Market Depth menu)
