Hi,
On Thursday I started having data streaming issues. Sometimes it flows through at the normal rate of 150ms, after a while it slows down to an update per second, then 3 or 4 seconds and then about 10 seconds. I am running SC 2280, with order routing through SC and using Denali Data Feed, have restarted SC, router, computer. All systems other than data feed seem to be operating normal. Usually after a while the stream seems to resume to normal and seemed good for the first hour of trading this morning. Currently it is updating every 10 seconds with a long pause of Not Responding in between. I have seen in Discord channels of others having similar issues. I don't know where else to turn to try and resolve this issue.
I hope you can help!
Thanks,
Kevin

The first step is to solve the freezing issue. Go through the information here:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

And then we want you to update to the very latest prerelease in about 10 minutes or after:
Software Download: Fast Update

We have added additional logging to identify the server you are connected to so we can see if there is any issue on our side. But the main problem clearly sounds like a performance issue on your side with Sierra Chart.

Also, I am looking to set up a dedicated SSD drive for SC. How can I transfer all of the C:drive SC information to say an E:drive that is only SC? Or does SC need to reference a C:drive?

Refer to the following:
Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation: Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation

Sierra Chart can be located anywhere, it does not have to be on the top of the C: drive. That is just our recommendation for where to put it.

I have completed the requested steps. Things seem a little better but still get times when it slows down. Today I noticed that it slowed down for a while about 40 minutes after the open, about 25 minutes later it just flashed back to normal for 10 or 15 minutes. Same thing this afternoon, it slowed down for a while to about a 3 second refresh and then with 5 minutes to the close it flashed back to normal for a few minutes and now is back to a 2 or 3 second stream.

We would need to see your Message Log after you see the "slow down" by following these instructions:

The one thing we see in the log is the following:
Warning: The Custom DLL study "OrderFlowLabs.com.scsf_JobPivots" has just caused a CPU exception. | 2021-07-14 08:16:26.596 *
Warning: This Custom DLL study may cause Sierra Chart to be unstable until you remove the study from the chart and restart Sierra Chart. | 2021-07-14 08:16:26.596 *

You will want to remove the study "OrderFlowLabs.com.scsf_JobPivots" from your charts. It is not stable and can cause any number of issues. You should also notify the creator the study that you are having an issue with it.

Take care of that first and then see what happens.

OFL is looking into the issue.
I have turned off the anti-virus for .scid files. I have installed a new M.2 drive, but have one PCIe 3x4 port and one PCIe 3x1 port. Which configuration would you think is better? Intel runs 1,500 read/1,000 write in 3x4 and has the operating system and runs 773/769 in 3x1. Samsung, which is the dedicated drive for SC, runs 880/880 in 3x1 and runs 3,532/3,266 in 3x4. Until I can get a new motherboard I don't have a PCIe 4 for the Samsung and don't have 2 PCIe 3x4, so trying to figure out the best configuration with the motherboard I have.
Thanks John!

I am still having issues with an inconsistent rate of data stream. Looking at the message log it looks like a chart calculates and then a future chart tells the preceding chart to recalc again and again which seems to be creating a circular loop effectively disabling SC.

Refer to this section, regarding circular references:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.9 References to Other Charts / Continuous Full Recalculation of Charts

What we recommend you do is use the main instance, for trading, and basic charting, and use sub instances, for anything more advanced:
Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance

At least the main instance, will not be affected. So only open your more complex chartbooks in a sub instance.
