Hi, when adjusting the OHLC Width %, the Open and Close 'dash' size doesnt change (get smaller) with any setting less than 50%.
I prefer to use a wider OHLC bar (2 to 3 levels up from the narrowest setting) for more clarity, but a short line for the Close dash (particulalry when the bar spacing is reduced) but this isnt possible at the moment. Hoping this would be a relatively straight-forward change, thanks.

We just tested this to ensure that there is not a problem, and we are not able to reproduce what you are seeing. We took the OHLC Width % down to 10% and the Open/Close markers adjusted appropriately.

Please ensure that you are modifying the correct OHLC Width % based on whether you are using the Chart Graphics Settings or the Global Graphics Settings for that specific chart. Refer to the following:

Yes, I am using Global Graphics settings to modify this parameter. I have attached 2 sets of examples of what I am seeing a) 10 pixel bar spacing and b) 15 pixel bar spacing (both sets have bar thickness 2 levels up from lowest). Any OHLC% settings below 50% are indistiguishable from one another. Once the bar spacing is below 10 pixels all the bars touch (no gaps between bars) no matter what OHLC% setting is used.

How are you setting the Bar Thickness?

Here is an example of what we see when the Bar Width is set to 3 and the OHLC % is 40% with a 10 pixel spacing:

We will admit that we can not go lower than 40% and see an impact in this particular scenario, but this looks like it is related to the bar width (we would have to check the code to see for sure). It looks like the width percentage can only be as small as the bar width plus 1 pixel.

Definitely if we have larger spacing and less wide bars, we can go further down in the percentage and continue to see an impact.

This does not seem to be exactly what you are seeing, but let us know.

I set thickness using the Control Bar buttons (Increase/Decrease Bar Thickness). My default thickness is 2 increments from the narrowest setting using these buttons (as shown in the examples). If my eyes are particulalry straining and I need go up another thickness level, it magnifies the problem and the Close dashes are touching the adjacent bar whatever % is set.

Yes, agree that as bar spacing increases and thickness decreses, the impact can be see, but it doesnt seem to translate to thicker bars and narrower spacing for whatever reason, hence what I am seeing in my examples.

We took a look at the code for how these are drawn, and the truth is that it uses the Increase/Decrease Thickness differently than if you just change the width of the bars. This then has an impact on the control of the overall width using the Width OHLC % to control the Open/Close markers.

Therefore, in your case, we would really recommend doing the following:
- Select the Control Bar option for Decrease Bar Thickness as many times as necessary to get the bars as thin as possible (it should be two times from what you have stated).
- Open the Global Settings >> Graphics Settings window.
- Select one of the Save slots and select the button for Save Settings. This way, if you need to get back to your previous settings, you can quickly do so.
- Find the following entries and set the Width for each one to how you want to see them:
- - Bar High-Low Down
- - Bar High-Low Up
- - Bar Open
- - Bar Close
- Then adjust your OHLC Width % as you want to see it.

Once you have the setup as you like, then we recommend saving the setup again to a different save slot.
