Hi,

I recently exported data from NQ100 actual contractual period to a .txt file for a usage in my automated system and I find out that the values in the Volume / Number of trades column within the data dont match to the Volume indicator I use in Sierra when evaluating my signals.

Could I ask you for an explanation if there is a correlation between these two things? Is the Volume or Number of Trades or any column in the exported .txt file (Edit - Export intraday data to a txt file) the same that I can see in the Volume indicator (just Volume in the Studies)? Is there any way I can export the values from Volume indicator?

What I did was I took the .txt file data, sum the columns for the particular minute and compare to the value of the minute bar in the Volume indicator to see if the volume is the same and it wasnt. It was different by hundreds or more, sometimes less, but definitely different.

Thank you

The sum of the Intraday data should match what you see in your chart.

To get the Volume data you can use the Edit >> Export Bar Data to Text File, which will output the bar data as it is in the chart to a text file. Refer to the following:
Edit Menu: Edit >> Export Bar Data to Text File

I want to delete this Monday's data (07.05.21). I found 2 methods: export and edit the intraday data file OR use ALT+E with the Intraday Data Editor.

Exporting the data works. But the exported file is over 700mb big and all editors i tried did stop working and had to be canceled via windows task manager. I guess in the end i dont have enough RAM.

Using ALT+E gets my hand sour. Its simply not ment to be used to deleted a whole day of data. It takes an hour at least.

So at this point, what are my options to get rid of the data in a working and reasonable way?

Try using the 64-bit Notepad ++ editor.

You can exclude days in a chart before exporting by using this Chart Setting:
Chart Settings: Set Dates To Exclude (Button) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Data >> Chart Data menu)

64bit Notepad ++ was the first editor i tried. A window pops up, saying: "Notepad ++ cant open such large files." Libre office writer seems to run out of RAM.
The windows task manager shows this program is using over 7gb of RAM while opening the file. But i run out of RAM at this point and the file is still not opened.

I tried the exclude feature and dont understand how it helps to edit intraday data. I loaded an intraday chart from the starting date 2021-07-02.
Exporting this data always seems to export the whole file and not just the loaded days in the chart. So i end up with a big file anyway.
What i didnt try is exporting bar data as i am not sure if this is suitable for an intraday file regarding importing the data back.

Yes you need to export the bar data only. You can import it back, but make sure the time zone of the chart is set to UTC before exporting.
