Hello there,

as the title suggests I would like to chart the ES but trade the MES. For that I want to attach an MES trade window to my ES Chart.

Is there any possibility to do that?

No, that is not the way to do it within Sierra Chart.

Refer to the following setting:
Chart Settings: Trade and Current Quote Symbol (text box) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu)

Make sure you read all of the Sub-Sections for this, particularly the one about the Currency Value per Tick.

Hi there,

thx for the quick answer but unfortunately, I didnt really understant. So when you say, there is no possibility why does it say in the link you can change the trade symbol?

Unfortunately, I didnt really get what the link said. Where to I find this box to check: Trade and Current Quote Symbol? I already have the chart open with the ES on it.

On your ES Chart, select Chart >> Chart Settings. On that page, you will see a field for Symbol in the bottom left that lists your ES symbol. Right underneath it is the setting for Trade and Current Quote Symbol. If you want to trade the MES, then enter your MES symbol in that field (as described in the link we sent you for that field).

You will probably also want to select the option for Use as Trade Only Symbol, which means that it will only be used as the trade symbol, and not as the Current Quote symbol as well.

Make sure you also read the section about needing to change the Currency Value Per Tick to understand how you would need to change that setting to ensure you have the proper profit/loss values, if you are using a currency value.

thank you found it.

One last thing: When I put Limit Order in the Trade Window it says 0.00 in the limit field and I am instantly executed, feels like a market order. I would like to set the default price of a limit sell and limit buy order 6 ticks above/below current price. How could I do that? I read that it should be under the set tab but I couldnt find anything there.

ThX a lot

There is not a way to do what you are asking for from the Trade Window. You would need to specify the price prior to putting in the order.

The options on the Set tab are for Stop-Limit type orders, but again, you still need to specify the price and then the offset is applied.

What you can do is specify a Keyboard Shortcut to do what you want. Refer to the information starting here:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Custom Trading Keyboard Shortcuts
