I have an alert system that was built in version 1917, that is buggy in more recent versions. I am installing SierraChart on a second machine, but it will not allow me to install version 1917 (or any other version older than 2000).
When trying to install version 1917, I get the following messages in the log:

You need to use a current version of Sierra Chart. We are no longer supporting older versions. Refer to:
Using Sierra Chart Current Versions is Required and Historical Data New Policy

Although we are not sure why this error is occurring:
Windows error code 123: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. | 2021-05-07 18:40:10

That must be some kind of local issue.

You need to work out whatever problem there is with the custom study on the newer version.

Why should I be required to use a newer version when the older version is working perfectly fine for me? I have already spent months working out kinks in the old version and would very much prefer not to do that again.

This is not a local issue.
I have several colleagues who use this software, all of whom are receiving the same error when trying to install an older version.
So far, we have tried installing 1917 on 4 different machines under 3 different users, all yielding the same results.

Please read this thread:

We will say nothing more. You simply cannot use an older version any longer.

If you need any help, with an ACSIL study let us know. Minor changes in ACSIL which have occurred since then, are not going to take you months to work out. At most, it would be 15 minutes. We can help. If you have an ACSIL study that is not compiling we can help with that.

We discovered the reason why this happens and it is resolved in the latest installer we have now released.
