In my current setup, I submit trades in 2nd instance using a bare bones chart with only price bars and attached trading dom. All other charts with studies are in main instance.

After installing Ver 2253 and placing a limit buy order in Sim, I received an error message saying Global Position Limit of 4 has been exceeded. This was unexpected since this was my first trade of the day and have no open positions. I looked at trade Activity Log in 2nd instance and it mentions 'Trade Account: No Account specified'. I then enabled Trade>Trade Simulation Mode in 2nd instance. I submitted an order and it went thru. Prior to ver. 2253, I have Trade>Trade Simulation Mode unchecked in 2nd instance so that Global Loss Mgmt. in main instance will take effect. This is specified in SC documentation. One other thing I noticed is that in this new version, chart trading order lines are no longer visible in main instance when trade is submitted in 2nd instance. Has this changed with ver. 2253? I reverted back to Ver 2247 and have no issues submitting trades with my current setup.

This is opposite of the way you should be doing it. Refer to:
Overview of Trading: Sierra Chart Configuration for Most Low Response Time Trading

Use the main instance for trading.

I received an error message saying Global Position Limit of 4 has been exceeded.
Remove the Global Position Limit:
Global Symbol Settings: Use Global Trade Position Limit

You clearly have it set. There is nothing wrong with this functionality other than it may be working in more cases and be more strict.

There is absolutely no problem with this at all in the new version. There is another reason in your case. Refer to:
Chart Trading and the Chart DOM: Viewing Orders and Trade Position on the Chart / Trade DOM

I switched my trading charts to the main instance and all other charts with studies to 2nd instance as you have recommended. Submitting trades in main instance seems to be working fine. I can see the chart trading lines in 2nd instance.

However, when I submit a trade in main instance, the Chart Trading Position Line in the 2nd instance would suddenly disappear after a few seconds even though the trade is still open and position line in main instance is still visible. When the trade hits my stop loss bracket order, it would take a few more sec. before the order lines disappear in the 2nd instance as if the trade is still working. But in the end, the NPL is the same for both instance. Any ideas what's causing this?

We will look into this issue.

Regarding post #4 we will have to look at this much later on because we realize there is not support for a sub instance to receive positions from the main instance which is in Trade Simulation Mode.

To do what you want, use the Simulated Trading Service instead:
Simulated Futures Trading Service

Make sure you are running the latest Sierra Chart prerelease version.
