I am using TT-Net for data and execution, through AMP

I was unable to log in on Saturday, when I finally able to log in in Sunday Globex hours, my trade activities data from last month and current month are lost, only the last day (3/7/2014) record is available, the Refresh Log feature inTrade Activity Log is greyed out so I can't refresh the log either, what was wrong and how can I get my lost trade log back?

Is there a local copy or backup of my trade log? This is very scary: all my trade activities are supposed to be kept at SC server or TT-Net server, not on my own computer, but they can just vanish from the server.

Please help!

No, this is definitely not the case. For more information about the Trade Activity Log, see:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_TradeActivityLog.php

The trade activity is recorded by Sierra Chart and saved locally on your system.

Edit >> Refresh Log is only enabled when the Trade Activity tab is selected.

Check how many days you have set to save in the Trade Activity Log:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_GlobalTradeSettings.html#NumberDaysSaveTradeActivity

And also check the settings at the top of the Trade >> Trade Activity >>Log >> Trade Activity to make sure they are set as you require to see what you want.

Thank you for your response.

I had set the number of days to save the log to 1000, what could had caused all my trade activity data to disappear? and is there any way to recover them?

I had changed the maximum file size option from 250 MB to 50 MB, and SC did split the data file to several small files, could that had caused the trade activity log to get wiped out?

There was no warning or documentation that states changing the max file size option would wipe out the trade activity log.

Please help!

No. This is not related to it.

You can send your TradeActivityLog.DAT file in the folder where Sierra Chart is installed to, to support _AT_Sierra Chart.com and we can have a look at it.

This is very unusual. We do not have an explanation for it other than as follows:

1. Maybe your computers Date is not set correctly. Check it.

2. Maybe an older version of the file is getting restored and overwriting the current version of it, every day or something like that.

Do you notice data become missing from the Trade Activity Log after restarting Sierra Chart? What if you leave Sierra Chart running for several days at a time. See what happens in this last case.

We also recommend making periodic backups of the TradeActivityLog.DAT file.

Another thing that came to mind is make sure that the TradeActivityLog.DAT file is not set to read-only in Windows.

If none of the information above is helpful, then we recommend renaming the TradeActivityLog.DAT file in the Sierra Chart installation folder to another name.

Do this when Sierra Chart is not running. This way you will have a completely new file and still have a backup of the old file.

Within Sierra Chart you will not have any trading activity since the time of the rename, but at least you will going forward.

Other than the information we have posted above, we have no other ideas about this problem.
