I just signed up for a Sierra account this past week. It asked me to provide a trading platform to verify my ability to get data as a non-professional. I was under the impression that it needed to verify and then it would no longer need to sign in, but every time I start Sierra it interfaces with my Interactive Broker account.
1) Is this required all the time, because if so, it requires me to keep the application up all the time when I had not planned on having IB up? If not, how to disable IB from being required in Sierra?
2) On the flip side, if IB is up, am I allowed to use it to obtain real-time stock data for stock instruments? As of right now, I subscribe to the denali feed for CME data, but I cannot get real-time stock data without paying for another subscription -- unless I can get it on Sierra via the IB connection.

Please let me know how to best configure for both of the circumstances above, thank you.

1. Refer to:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Connecting Only Once a Month to Trading Account to Support CME Group Exchange Fees

2. Yes you can get this data from Interactive Brokers but we really really do not recommend that (you will have a horrible impression). Really really horrible. We recommend using this data feed instead:
