very slow chartbook download

Gentlemen,
I’ve been using SC for quite some time with no major issues. Over the weekend March 13/14, I upgraded to a new version (after about 14 days since the last update) and faced very slow download of my chart book (containing Service Package 3, E-mini S&P500 delayed intra-day charts, tick charts, no changes to the chart book made, except I deleted some charts). I thought this was one off issue. But it’s not. I updated to new version this morning and the problem persists.
According to a message log, it took from 6:26 AM to 6:32 AM to download data from servers, which is longer than previously, but I could live with that. But it took another 39 minutes to 7:11 AM to upload the charts on the screen. I noticed that SC was using almost 100% of HDD access capacity, slowing down the comp. There’s plenty of space on the HDD though.
Any hints what might be the cause? I’ve scrolled through the message board but have not found any recent request relating to this issue, so it might be something idiosyncratic, but still... Prior to the updates, the whole thing took 2-3 minutes max.
