Hi,

This question was asked previously by another user:

Can I plot point & figure charts (example-9 tick reversal) in bar chart (OHLC) format ?
Do such format give ghost highs & lows on each new PnF bar chart?

Can you help me to format the point & figure (OHLC) bars to plot ghost highs & lows on each new PnF bar chart?.

I attached a screen shot of the other user that asked this question.

Thank you once again,
Daniel

This is documented here:
Chart Settings: Point and Figure Bar (Intraday Charts)

From documentation:
For Open, High, Low, Close style chart bars, set the Graph Draw Type setting on the Chart >> Chart Settings >> Main Settings tab, to OHLC bars.

The colors for the standard OHLC Bars type when using Bar Period Type >> Point and Figure Bar, are controlled with the standard color settings for OHLC bars in Graphics Settings.

The true and accurate Open, High, Low and Last/Close values which represent the underlying data contained within each Point and Figure chart bar are maintained and can be viewed through the Chart Values window.

The Open value represents the first price of the chart bar and would be the price that caused a new chart bar to start. The High value is the highest price during the chart bar. The Low value is the lowest price during the chart bar. The Last value is the last trade price of the bar. The volume of the chart bar will be the volume of all of the trades contained within the chart bar. When the chart bar is displayed using either the OHLC Bars or Candlestick Bars for the Graph Draw Type, the true Open, High, Low, Last values are displayed.

Hi,

I am using your real time TSX data.

When I use P&F charts I can only download a few days worth of data.
I attached a P&F chart showing my setting.

Also the same issues with crypo's

Thank you,
Daniel

Hi,

Sorry to be a pain.

I followed the above instructions with no improvement.

I adjusted the setting in Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings

Then went to: Edit >> Delete All Data And Download.

I attached a screen shot showing the Global Settings and the the chart with limited data.

Regards,
Daniel

Therefore, if you are not getting more historical data than expected, that is all the historical data that is available for the symbol. You will be able to clearly see all of the data by setting the chart bars to 1 hour per bar instead of Point and Figure and reducing the bar spacing.

Hi,

I'll try to explain my setup.
The main focus is PnF charts.

I subscribe to Sierra Charts real time TSX data.
I need to use Weekly, Daily and PnF charts.

When I use time based charts like the weekly, Daily there is 5-10 years of data. (Good)

If I use hourly or PnF charts there is only ~ 4 months. (for short term PnF's (1-10 box size) that is OK but I also need to use longer term PnF's (1-60 box size)

I attached a screen shot that has a Daily chart that displays about 7 years of data using Historical Charts.

When using Hourly/minute and PnF charts there is no other choice but to use Intraday Charts. Only about ~ 4 months of data are displayed.

If I use Historical Charts for PnF charts, Sierra Charts will only display Daily bars not PnF bars.
So, that is the dilemma, I have to use Intraday Charts for the PnF's but there is no real data.

I have Data set to SC Data - All Services.

If there is no longer term Intraday Charts data, how can I use Historical Charts data using PnF charts?

Need help !

Regards,
Daniel
