Dears
While being on a sim I opened sub-instance also working as sim.
Executed an order on the main and could not see one on subinstance chart/dom.
When executed on subinstance it was the same - nothing to see on the main instance.
Is there any way to see such orders on both/each instances?

I went through this topic Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance: Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance and did not met answer there.

Pls advise. Thank you.

So the main instance is set to sim, subinstance to live and regarding
"3. From the Chart or Trade DOM you will be trading from in the sub instance, select one of the Simulation (Sim#) accounts"

- when I choose sim like it is showed here Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM)
it goes back immediately to live acc no. when I try to choose sim, it can not be even choosen just only expands and when click nothing changes.

Some workaround .... ?

In your Main instance, ensure that it is in Simulation Mode by going to the Trade pulldown and noting that the option for Trade Simulation Mode On has a checkmark next to it.

If it does, then open a Trade Window and verify that the Trade Account Selection is set to Sim1 (or other Sim#).

I replicated also by closing and starting sub-instance and still the issue persists - Trade Acc Selection box expands but when trying to click Sim it does not want even to click and immediately changes to live acc no.
I also attach screen from settings.
So all other checkmarks also should be off ...?

You need to uncheck this Setting in Global Settings >> General Trade Settings :
Global Trade Settings Windows: Select Non-Sim Trade Account on Entering Non-Sim Mode in SubInstances (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> General)

Just pls one more hint.
To play sim we have main set to sim and sub set to live but with choosen sim# acc - works perfectly.

1- what would be the settings to go live - main should be changed to live and sub trade box acc change from sim# to live acc #?

2- how about stil having main on sim mode than sub in live mode but choosen live acc and if I put order on sub this would not go live as main is still set to sim mode?

3- is main playing the more important role than sub when sending orders, ie if main is set to sim mode than whatever I do on sub it will never let go orders as live?

And regarding alerts.
I have a set of alerts ringing at certain constant times during a day.
When I open 3-4 sub instances I have dramatic echos coming at the same time from each sub instance alerts.

Is there any way to set alerts coming from one instance, best of course from main ?

I have found another way of disabling repeating alerts on subinstances.
On each subinstance tick on Global Setting > Mute all alert sounds

I have a very stresfull situation with live orders as they do not appear on charts.
Main instance - simulation off
Sub instances - simulation off + choosen live acc number in trading window
Sending order as above does not show any order lines on charts and I can only see changing ticks in trading window and had to close position immediately.

After changing as following:
main - sim on
sub instances - sim on
all is working perfectly with lines.

Would rather not to test live again as it can be dangerous - how to set this up?
Pls remember I changeg main settings as given in #6
from here Global Trade Settings Windows: Select Non-Sim Trade Account on Entering Non-Sim Mode in SubInstances (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> General)

So so so .....
I found a workaround but so much time consuming and not fully usefull.
Subinstance - change to sim off.
To send order through subinstance we have to change in trade window from sim to live.
Each chartbook consists of a few charts.
And now it appears that to have working orders lines on all charts in a chartbook I need to click through each chart to open trade window and change from sim to live acc, on each chart....
Moreover, if I want to go back to sim, first we change to sim on through Trade menu but than after we have to change again on each chart from live acc to sim in trade window.
Really is it the only way??

Make sure you also have the setting for Select Non Sim Trade Account on Entering Non-Sim Mode in Sub Instances set to Yes in each of the Sub-Instances that you are using. Otherwise, the Sub-Instance will not select a Non-Sim account when you change off from Simulation Mode.

And can I set and leane in main instance:
"Select Non Sim Trade Account on Entering Non-Sim Mode in Sub Instances"
to Yes
to have it automatically ON after opening any subinstances?
As this option only concerns sub-instance without main.

You need to go to each Sub-Instance and make sure it is set to Yes. Having it set to Yes in the Main instance is not enough.
