When I open my Sierra Platform it sticks severely and also causes my thinkorswim platform to stick the same way. This is a new problem. I've had lagging issues with my cross hairs before, but now every action is frequently freezing for 3-4-5 seconds. Which is very long time. Would uninstall and reinstall help? I've gone through the sections you've previously sent me for the lagging issue to no avail. The way the platform is now it's unusable. As I typed it also froze for a few seconds at a time. When I close my Sierra Platform the problem goes away.

Thank you,

Mike Beck

Definitely do not uninstall.

Refer to this help topic:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

If you are using OpenGL try disabling that in case that is having some unexpected affect:
Graphics Settings: Use OpenGL for Chart Graphics (Global Settings >> Graphics Settings >> Other)

The other recommendation is to install Sierra Chart on its own dedicated solid-state drive with no other programs. Refer to:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.29 - Solid State Drives / SSD

Regarding dedicated SSD option: When I run Sierra without simultaneously running my Thinkorswim platform, I'm essentially dedicating that SSD to my Sierra Platform. NO other programs are running as I don't even have any other programs installed on my computer because I use it only for trading. The 3-5 second freezing still occurs when Sierra is the only program running on my current SSD. One other symptom I forgot to report is that at one point Sierra Platform froze and 'ghosted' white while I got the spinning blue circle. Now, this ghosting ONLY occurred on my Sierra platform and not my Thinkorswim or on any other screens.

Since the freezing issue occurs when I essentially already have only Sierra dedicated to my current SSD it seems installing another SSD my might not be the fix? Is there another route we can explore before I spend the money and time on yet another SSD?

My current SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB Solid State Drive - 550MB/s
Other Basics: CPU : Intel Core i7 6700K - 4 Cores, 8 Threads - 4.50 GHz OC Included - 8MB Cache - 14nm Skylake
Motherboard : Gigabyte Z170 Chipset - USB 3.1 & Type-C, SATA Express, DDR4 Support, Ultra-Durable Line
RAM : 24GB DDR4 RAM - 2400 MHz

Thank you

You need to go through the items in help topic 30 to reduce CPU usage within the Sierra Chart process and use multiple instances of Sierra Chart if necessary:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often
