Due the recent TT issues I switched to CQG. After connecting ok to the CQG data feed I have some of the commands frozen. I cannot disconnect from the Sim mode, can't change the symbols and even most of the information inside various windows I opened is not shown. Please advise what else I need to do to resume Sierra Chart normal function.

First, make sure that you have followed through all of the Setup Instructions to connect Sierra Chart to CQG as found here:
CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions

Once that is all setup let us know of a specific issue and we will look into it.

I did all the connection steps before and is connecting. I restated the computer and now freezes every time I load a chart so I have to reboot the computer again. The charts I am trying to load are the previous ones that I used with TT Denali feed and I know that the symbols are different for CQG but I don't know how to change the symbols before opening the charts. Do I have to redo all the charts all over again?

Question 1. I got switched over from TT to CQG, the symbols all converted, but I can't place any orders on EUREX (DAX). I followed the setup instructions. Is there someting else that needs to be done? The order briefly appears on the DOM, then disappears.

Question 2. Is there some way to automatically delete the .dly and .scid files from TT now that they are no longer needed? Sucking up tons of disk space.

User924806:

There should not be a problem with the charts. Changing the Service Provider, in your case, is only changing where the trades are sent. You are setup to receive your data through us (the Denali Exchange Data Feed).

With regards to the symbols, your chart should still display, but it may be blank. They definitely should display. You would then select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service.

Let us know if you are still having trouble and not able to get things going.

1. You need to check with AMP to see if EUREX orders can be put in through CQG.

2. There is not an automated way to delete the old files, but you can follow these instructions to remove them:

Having a way to automate deletion of data files would be a useful addition to the platform, IMO. It's useful in the event people change data/routing, or even if they just want to delete older data files that they will no longer use, for example, "delete all data older than 2 years".

Not sure how hard this would be, but a useful addition anyhow.

I've deleted most of the old TT files manually. Since they are named quite differently from the CQG data files, a simple 'grep' command removed the bulk of them.

Absolutely never never never. This would be completely foolish for us to put something like this in. Then when it does not work right for some reason, we will get harsh complaints.

If you say so... it's a pretty simple matter to select files by date. And since they can always be downloaded again if wanted, it's a non-destructive operation. Just a great convenience for the user, tiny amount of programming effort. Trivial to say the least. But, mine are cleaned up, so I don't really give two s**** about other users.

I have automated the "data reset" so that my script will install a new copy of SC and then copy only settings/files which I need/want from old SC into new one. Easy and fast.
