Our data shows that 3 distinct computers trying to run Sierra Chart. That is why you are getting the error message on the 3rd one.

Hope it's OK to post this question here rather than opening a new request. I've gotten confused recently about just how many systems I can run of SC simultaneously. My reading of my Account Control Panel: "1 out of a total of 2 system(s) is currently being used". Please confirm my understanding that I am "allowed" to run 1 instance (of 2) on my desktop and a 2nd (2 of 2) on my laptop simultaneously.

Finally figured it out I had left my other computer in sleep mode ,I thought that it disconnects from Sierra but I guess it still registers as being connected.

You say: "Yes. But refer to:

https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/PurchaseInformation.php#Licensing".

I've read that before and the details remain ambiguous, at least to me. "However, each Sierra Chart account can by default be [USED] on 2 computer systems at the same time or concurrently unless you pay for additional systems (see below)." Perhaps I'm misconstruing what "Used" or "running 2 instances simultaneously on separate systems" really means. Do you mean, yes, you can "run" or "use" any number of systems on any number of machines simultaneously, BUT, only one will be able to get data from your provider? And if you keep trying you will lose connection on all of them unless you disconnect from data on these "other" systems/instances. So, the words "run" or "used" do NOT mean "with data", but rather you could theoretically "run/use" a 2nd, 3rd, etc. at the same time as the ONE which IS connected to data provider, but only in an "offline" sort of way with no live, real-time data connection, maybe for backtesting or reviewing past data of day(s) already over.

To further confuse me, the link to DTC server use says: "The DTC Protocol Server in Sierra Chart [CAN] be [USED] by another instance of Sierra Chart either on the same computer or [ACROSS a NETWORK]. Although market data is only allowed to be used on the same computer.", but then seems to contradict itself: "Although the sharing of market data across a network is prohibited in order to maintain compliance with market data rules."

Please excuse me for being so dense. Perhaps I need to stop trying to make sense out of all the different explanations and conclude that I CANNOT run or "...used on 2 computer systems at the same time or concurrently..." and expect to have live, real-time data to observe the markets. Once again, my apologies for my deficiencies in my mental prowess.

In your case to do with you want, the CME wants you to pay a second exchange fee. You can do it but you have to pay:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: Connections

And you can understand how maddening this is for everyone. And how unwelcome your lengthy post is because it unnecessarily takes our time. And we are not afraid to say that. It is all of these external market data rules which we do not set which are causing all the problem yet the burden is thrown on us. This is just not right.

Read and understand as best as you can and experiment. This is not hard to figure out on your own.
