Consecutive switching between window tabs

Hi,

Currently Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab shortcuts switch between next and previously opened tabs respectively.

But is there a shortcut to switch between charts consecutively? E.g. starting from 1st tabs row and 1st tab and switching to 2nd chart, then to 3d chart and vice versa.

Could you introduce such shortcuts, or make a setting in SC to choose between next/previously opened tabs switching and consecutive tabs switching?

What tabs are you referring to?

You can reorder the charts through this window:

What tabs are you referring to?

MDI Window Tabs

General Settings >> Support Multiple Rows is enabled

The Chart Window Tabs in the rows and in the Windows and Chartbooks window are already ordered following my logic.

I don't need to reorder them.

I'm talking about switching between chart window tabs with a shortcut. Please read my 1st post again to see what my concern is.

Ctrl-Tab

Read 1st post before you reply. Irrelevant.

Previous Chart - Window and CW Menus: Previous Chart (Window)
Next Chart - Window and CW Menus: Next Chart (Window)

Just add your keyboard shortcuts - Global Settings Menu: Customize Keyboard Shortcuts (Global Settings menu)

Strange, both commands are already set to F4 and F9 respectively.

But when I use them, F9 opens next chart window correctly only once and then F4 opens previous chart window only once as well and that's it.

Ok, wasn't sure if there was a default pre-set, I have them set to ctrl+up-arrow & ctrl+down-arrow.
Those commands work fine for me, the exception being when there are detached charts.

edit: When I say exception, this is not to say that the commands don't work with detached windows, they do, it is just that sometimes it's not immediately apparent which detached chart window has been selected.

I have 48 chart window tabs in the current chartbook, I click on a random tab around the middle of rows, and these commands 'previous chart' and 'next chart', F4 and F9 shortcuts, literally do nothing.

Well I don't know why that would be, it works for me with similarly size chartbooks, so I can't offer any help, sorry.

No problems, thank you anyway for letting me know about these commands.

SC team, please help with it. I use SC version 2226, 64-bit.

There is a lot of discussion between users here. What is the current question?

It's the same question, as in the 1st post.

How can I switch between chart window tabs consecutively with the help of a shortcut?

One user suggested, that

Previous Chart - Window and CW Menus: Previous Chart (Window)
Next Chart - Window and CW Menus: Next Chart (Window)

commands should do that, but when I use them, they just do nothing, no action (they set to F4 and F9 by default).

General Settings >> Support Multiple Rows for MDI Window Tabs is enabled.

The Chart Window Tabs in the rows and in the Windows and Chartbooks window are already ordered following my logic.

Just remap your keyboard shortcuts since F4 and F9 might be used by something Windows related (F# buttons in Windows have given me this issue in SC; this is addressed somewhere in SC's documentation for Customizing Keyboard Shortcuts FYI).

Global Settings > Customize Keyboard Shortcuts > Window

Scroll to Next Chart (and Previous Chart which is useful), then remap to something non-F#. I use Alt + X for Previous Chart, and Alt + C for Next Chart.

I assigned Alt+X shortcut key for Previous Chart command, and this changed nothing for me, the function doesn't work.

I restarted PC, opened SC, opened random chart window, pressed Alt+X and there was no action whatsoever.

If you select these commands, directly from the Window menu, do they go to the previous and next charts? Is the movement through the charts correct?

Make sure the keyboard shortcuts are set correctly:
Global Settings Menu: Customize Keyboard Shortcuts (Global Settings menu)

If the keyboard shortcuts are not working after you have configured them, this is not something we can help with.

No, they do nothing as well.

Make sure the keyboard shortcuts are set correctly

I re-checked all this several times. https://i.imgur.com/NydVVKr.png

Why? Please explain.

How can this be? There cannot possibly be any problem with this and we tested this and did not observe any problem. Those commands absolutely will iterate among the charts.

Make sure this command is disabled for the charts:
Window >>Window Always Visible

Yes, this is disabled.

How can this be?

Sometimes those commands will switch charts 2-3 times in one direction, but no more. Do you want me to record a gif, showing it to you? Or, if you'd like, you can use remote assistance to see it yourself.

We do not see how we can provide further help. The functionality works correctly. There has never been any known instance of a problem, it makes no sense there is, and is simply not reproducible.

This must be some kind of system level issue in your case.

We cannot be chasing after every single problem users bring us when we know, there is nothing wrong within Sierra Chart. We have to maintain our priorities.

We are not willing to allocate any time to this.

Unbelievable. Also there was a time when there was no SC at all. Or am I the first person to post an issue?

This must be some kind of system level issue in your case.

How do you know say it if you can't reproduce it?

Did you have a thought that there could be something wrong with my chartbook that those commands can't go through its charts?

I just created new chartbook, didn't save it, opened 15 intraday charts, and those commands just worked, not as smooth as I thought re speed, plus I saw some border frames, but they worked, even with shortcut keyы.

The movement through the charts was correct.

Then I returned to my chartbook for work, and they didn't work.

So this assumption of yours

This must be some kind of system level issue in your case.

must be wrong.

Now, how can we resolve this issue?

I just had an idea, which turned out to be brilliant, because now I can give you the

Steps to reproduce

1. Open new chartbook,

2. Open 4 intraday charts,

3. Enable 'Destroy Chart Windows When Hidden',

4. Hide window #3,

5. Use previous and next chart window commands, try to make a full loop through charts.
