After a full reset of the symbol settings there is no reason it would be set way unless it were manually changed. That is not the correct setting. Once again perform a Full Reset of the symbol settings as explained here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#FullResetSymbolSettingsSteps Make sure you do not alter the Rollover settings after the reset. After you reset the symbol settings, select Edit >> Reload All Charts. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Okay great that seems to have corrected the problem. I appreciate your help. Just to make a couple of things clear. I did change the setting to 'Last Thursday Of The Contract Month' I never said I didn't. I thought it was an option to make because I do trade the new contract on that Thursday. So it is not to be changed? As far as chart settings symbol, am I to use ESM4 or ES?#. Finally, do any changes have to be made on my part at the beginning of each contract period? |

Use ES?# and keep the default rollover settings.. At the beginning of a new contract, you just need to perform a rollover through Chart >> Perform Futures Symbol Rollover. So you have to manually decide when to rollover. It can be automatically but we prefer that users do not to that. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Okay thank you again. If I can make a suggestion you may want to clarify the documentation on the Rollover Rule settings. Also something that confused me, if you look up at your post #9 you had me use the symbol ESM4 under chart settings. I thought I was to use that instead of ES#?

What clarification specifically is needed for the Rollover Rule settings? And where did you get the impression you should use ES#? ? So we know what documentation to update. That particular symbol is a pattern and it is only used in the Global Symbol Settings window. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Did you carefully read my post #26. I specifically asked you if I should be using ESM4 or ES?# in chart settings and you said ES#? in post 27. So what to use in the chart settings then? ESM4? If so do we have to change that each new contract period? The documentation is not clear in the global symbol settings for the rollover rule. You told me not to alter the rollover settings. Documentation isn't clear on that.

Upon reading this again, we see that you are making reference to the Chart Settings in regards to the symbol. However, because you were asking about the rollover settings, we thought you were referring to the Global Symbol Settings and in that case the symbol there needs to be ES?#In the chart you will always use the actual symbol which currently is ESM4. You will have to manually roll this over. We will make it clear in the documentation, the rollover settings should not be altered unless someone understands specifically what they are doing and why. Installing a new hard drive. Is it still necessary to install a second instance for market stats and if so what is the reason for that?
