stop order 'pending modify' if dragged into active price action

I often use attached stop orders to exit. Since switching to CTS T4 to clear, if i drag my stop too close into active price action, instead of going as market, it gets stuck in 'pending modify' and will not reset. The order continues to work at the original price, but the order in the dom becomes stuck. if i drag it to a new price it does nto reset. when i look in my trade service log i see the following error. I have the trade option checked to 'convert to market order', but i have tried it with it on and off.

There was an error with the order modification: Order Modification Reject. Info: CME:Sell order stop price must be below last trade price. Service order ID: 7529.3511492.8E0C0128-EAFE-4B11-812E-0044B6801028 | 2014-02-18 10:25:17

The CTS system did reject the the Stop order modification as expected. However, the status of the order should have gone back to Open. We know why this happens and the problem will be resolved.

Next time you notice this, select Trade >> Refresh Trade Data from Service to correct the status of the order.

great, thanks for looking into it and the temp workaround.

just FYI that workaround resets the DOM handle from the 'pending modify' state, however after refreshing orders, i am unable to drag the stop, it becomes locked to its pre-pending price and i have to cancel and re-establish or exit via flatten. looking forward to that fix!

installed 1094 and just tested it. unfortunatly, the problem was not addressed in 1094. same problem, and stop handle becomes 'frozen' on refresh from service, so workaround also non functioning.

The scenario we tested, did get resolved. So we are not sure why you are still having a problem.

These services really need to do a better job with more organized and straightforward order ID handling. A problem like this should not even be occurring to begin with. One of the most difficult points of integration to a service is dealing with order IDs.

im pretty savvy with computers. what data do you need to help resolve it? its a 100% repro, all i have to do is drop a stop above current price. I can take screen videos, or work with you to get detailed logs. This really is super annoying for me so i am happy to help any way i can.

We will need to get the FIX log right after you have this problem. Here are instructions:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/helpdetails79.html

At that time also give us the Service Order ID for the order as you see it in Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Orders.

We did spend time on this and resolved it. We see you are running version 1099, so it should be resolved in that version.

Confirm if you are running version 1099.

If you could restart Sierra Chart, and deliberately cause this issue and provide another FIX log, that would be helpful.

Launched platform, took one trade on YM. used 8 tick stop. after fill, draged stop to below bid. trade went into 'pending modify'. Attempted trade refresh from service, then hit flatten.

running pre-release 1106, updated symbols. Regrettably, same error persists. Dropped my stop into the offer, rejected, stuck into pending modify.

OK, will check on this again. Certainly CTS is not making this easy. We do not want to be critical, but it should not be this difficult.

We also have a difficult time with CTS symbols.

thank you for your continued pursuit of this. When i scalp, i usually 'drag my stop', so in these fast markets, this bug can really give me fits! happy to get more data if you need it

We have completely reworked the order ID handling for CTS T4. We have a beta release ready. It is version 1106. It can be downloaded from here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/downloads/1106SierraChartSetupPrerelease.exe

Could you let us know if you still see the problem with this.

Hooray! this version works correctly. When i drop a stop into the active price, it rejects it and resets the order handle to its original location without getting stuck in pending modify. It does not appear to respect the 'convert rejected stop to a market order' trade preference, however that is only a minor complaint.

Thanks so much for staying with this folks!

i assume since this is a special prerelease you probably already know this. Yesterdays 1106 build was working fine with new symbols, however in this build, i am only getting quotes and data for ES and YM. Just pointing it out in case there is a sneaky problem.

http://screencast.com/t/0zYtOuOYnGlB all the zero quoted items in this watchlist were unsuccessful in pulling new data since i shut down the last version
