Dear Sierra,

Are the brokers mentioned in the title, FXCM and FOREX.com, supported for trading? On the platform I can see that FXCM FIX, FXCM standard, and Gain Capital are present among the menu File->Data/Trade Service Settings->Service(window menu) for "trading".
Could you please clarify on the matter?
Thanks.

Kind regards

Dear Sierra,

So for FX trading, what are the supported brokers?
I am very confused because I want to use Sierra for trading too, and this means I need to choose a broker that has an integration with Sierra Charts. However, trading conditions are also critical and the spread of LMAX is for example very not competitive. Any suggestions?
Thank you

Dear Sierra,
Excuse me but why do you offer such a small number of compatibility partners?
Shouldn't be a priority of Sierra to offer compatibility with a lot of brokers so that to make the software, which is a trading software, more useful for users that are actually traders?
I really don't know what to do now, and I am sure like me many users trading spot FX will be.
Are you planning on expanding the trading configurations?
Thank you.

Kind regards.

We are doing nothing further with cash forex. Cash Forex trading is history with Sierra Chart. There is nothing good out there and it is all proven to be very substandard. We have no regard for what is out there.

And we are not interested in compatibility with brokers anymore. They need to develop compatibility to Sierra Chart, not the other way around.

What we are working on is direct exchange connectivity for the major exchanges and working towards developing our own exchange. And cash Forex is not an area we would be involved in.

I see. That is very bad.
What instruments, asset classes are you most interested in ATM? Exchanges for trading what instruments?
Thanks.

This is not up to us but up to users. Overwhelmingly our users are trading on exchange markets. Not cash Forex markets.

Dear Sierra,
How can I configure a broker if it offers compatibility with DTC. This is a chat I had with the Pepperstone support team

"
I have another question
I use for my trading a platform called Sierra Charts
It offers compatibility through the DTC protocol
8:57 AM
Not FIX unfortunately
Does Pepperston offers already compatuibility through DTC?
Or is it possible to make a request for that? Thank you.
8:58 AM
we do accept 3rd party installations

I see

In order for me to connect my broker to Sierra, there should be the possibility to do so through the DTC Protocol
I am sorry because I am not an expert about these IT matters
9:03 AM
Data and Trading Communications (DTC) Protocol Server
This is the documentation of Sierra about it
9:04 AM
As you might guess
for us traders, the trading platform is like a holy book
it is critical for performance
I would be glad if you could expand a bit more about compatibility through DTC and so to Sierra
9:05 AM
Thank you.
9:05 AM
as mentioned , we do accept 3rd party installations, however we do not provide the service for these installations as we do not provide them , yes it will be compatible, however , your service provider should help you to install them

9:08 AM
So you allow DTC protocol
9:10 AM
yes we do
"

It seems like they can offer compatibility.
What is your view on that? Could you help?
Thanks.

Snuggly.
Why would you trade CFDs on their huge spread rather than trade Futures or ETF on a much smaller spread ?
Isnt that counter productive towards expectancy ?

The business of CFDs brokers is arbitrage where anything you buy/sell is covered automatically at a better price. They basically make a spread over the underline's (or underlines in the case of a synthetic CFD) spreads. In some cases they even dont hedge if a customers trading profile analysis has zero expectancy like alot have.

SPOT I understand, depending if you have accurses to a "Hotspot" "Currenex" , Bloomberg etc where you have choice (zero spread), but CFD ?

Im not sure if a discussion can be made here but am curios about your opinion
