Hi,
I want to be able to store my tick size preferences for the different symbols I trade, but when I switch through my watchlist the chart settings never save is there a way to modify this

I just want to include an example say I go to spy and I want the tick size to be in .10 cent increments so I go to chart setting set that up and everything works smoothly. But say I then go to FB and the tick setting are reverted back to .01 and everytime I go to a different chart the new setting are .01. I want the pre configured tick sizes I select to automatically show up for the symbols i choose.

Using the above example to be crystal clear..
I set the tick size to spy to be .10 then I switch to FB and Then when i switch back to spy I want it to be .10 ( only for the specific window im in)

For each of the stocks you need to set up specific Symbol Settings in Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. This is documented here:

So I have different time frame charts on different windows 120 60 20 in my trading and I want a different tick size for each chart. If I set a global setting for spy this will change the chart for all of my windows when I want to configure them individually... Is there a work around?

The Global Symbol Settings do not automatically get applied to existing charts.

They will if you change the symbol of a chart or open a new chart.

So I went through and I changed the tick size and that resolved the first part of my issue which was quite helpful. The second part of my problem is that I want the tick size to be .05 for the 120 spy chary .03 for 60 minute and .01 for 20 minute for the symbol spy and when I click away to another symbol and click back to spy I want the tick sizes that were saved for those charts and for spy to show up again. When I went through your fix I was able go into global settings and change spy tick size to .05. But now I get a .05 tick size for 120 60 and 20 minutes.

let me follow it up by explaining it a different way ... I want to have very specific tick size for specific windows for specific symbol that are stored so that when i click away and click back my saved settings show up. What I think you have explained to me is a way to change a global symbol setting so that when I change to a symbol a particular tick size show up.

We understand your scenario, but there is only one Tick Size no matter what the timeframe per bar is.

However, each chart can have its own independent Tick Size setting, but it is going to be reset if you change the symbol of the chart. So the solution is not to change the symbol of the chart if you are using a custom Tick Size.

Yah, thats what I have been doing but imagine having a watch list of 10 things and having to change the tick size of 3 different windows each time you change the symbol... it gets highly annoying.
For the record I like to use the tick size ability with the number bars so I can get a rough idea of selling in an area over a larger price range. If you guys can add functionality for this or something similar in your future releases I know lot of people will probably gain a more dynamic functionality with the platform.

And it gets to be annoying for us and impossible for us to accommodate every single user and their wishes. We cannot accommodate this.

You would be waiting a very very long time, more than a year and Sierra Chart will get so complex with options that it is unmanageable and increasingly difficult to support. Lately we have been working hard to organize and simplify Sierra Chart as much as possible especially in the area of market data access and handling.

You just need to use a dedicated chart for the different Tick Sizes you want and do not change the symbol. You have to change your procedures.

Yah so I figured out a work around because sierra charts was of no help to my on this topic. Essentially I used a program called jitbit which is an auto script writer you can do a series of commands(ie hit chart setting and enter the tick size you want for a chart) and it will record and preform them from you automatically.
I then assigned a macro to it so I press a set of key combinations and the script get initiated doing what I want it to do. Jitbit is paid but there are a bunch of free programs that essentially do the same thing auto hot key, and others just do a search macro script creators.
Sierra I want to see more motivation from you guys I encourage you to step up and master a new level of customer support that is above and beyond, not mediocre.

This is good.

We could not help with this by programming what you want. Also this does not have anything to do with customer support . We do not have the time to get involved with this, it is complicated to implement, and it would create problems for us.

Also, it is possible to use ACSIL to accomplish what you want programmatically by controlling the tick size. The capability to do this will be in the next release.
