How can I get the actual difference between yesterdays close of the YM relative to real time. In other words I have a
text box showing the real time price of the YM but what I want is the actual difference from yesterday and current price.
It would be a positive or negative number.

If there was a way to color the background of textbox to correspond with +/- that would be nice.

Thanks

You can get the difference as a Percentage using this study:
Percent Change Since Previous Close

Depending on what you use to display the data, you could use the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition to change the color based on +/-. For instance, you cannot do this with the Text Display for Study, but you could with Study Subgraph Above/Below Bar as Text study. Refer to the information here:

or another solution to do:

Study Daily OHLC + Arihtmetic studies + Text Display For Study

Daily OHLC (try parameter "Reference Days Back:")
Daily OHLC

Using the Basic Arithmetic Studies (for you: Study Subgraphs Subtract/Difference)
Using the Basic Arithmetic Studies

Text Display For Study | Text Display For Study from Chart
Text Display For Study

btw "If there was a way to color the background of textbox to correspond with +/- that would be nice."
I have custom study for that:
10) Text Display from Study - Background based on positive/negative
