Hello,
If I'm having the Denali datafeed. Why can't I just run Sierra Chart of the Denali Datafeed.
Why do I have to be connected to the broker, in the context I'm doing sims only of course.
I'm not sure I clearly understand the architechture behind this.
How am I sure that I'm fed with the Denali feed and not the broker feed.
Best regards.

You need to be connected to your broker in order to qualify for the lower-priced CME Non-Professional rates. The CME Group has a rule that you have to have a funded account in order to qualify. Therefore, we check that connection from your software and update the information with the exchange so you do not have to pay the higher priced fees.

If you are not trading, then you can get away with connecting to your broker only once a month. Refer to the information here:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Connecting Only Once a Month to Trading Account to Support CME Group Exchange Fees

But we really do recommend that you just stay connected so you do not have to think about this at the beginning of each month.

Additionally, you can verify that you are receiving the data from Sierra Chart by looking at the Symbol displayed in the Chart Header (if you have it enabled to display). You will see the designation "[M]" (no quotes) after the symbol denoting that it is Sierra Chart Data. Refer to the information around the 2nd image in this section:
