So, a user reported that they'd discovered that versions of Sierra Chart after 2115 failed to start in PlayOnLinux (on Manjaro).

I was running 2109 so upgraded and discovered the same problem with Wine 4. Since then I've upgraded to 5.0.1 (on Mint 19.3 and NVIDIA drivers) and even with fresh Sierra Chart it crashes within a few minutes.

SierraChart update to 2120 crash at start (PlayOnlinux)

So, is anyone with Linux or OSX running it successfully after version 2115? What's your setup (os, version, graphics card, windows emulator)?

Good luck all.

Not sure how we can help with this. It is more than enough work for us just to maintain Sierra Chart on Windows. We certainly are gradually making changes to port to another operating system.

And we have no idea why there is a problem with newer versions on Wine. It does not make much sense.

Perhaps when MFC is removed from Sierra Chart this will help. This is one of our active projects. Or thinking about it, perhaps it is related to the work we are doing on this. We would not think so though.

Thanks for the update. From the perspective of a non-Win user I don't mind being stuck on 2109 as it does everything that I could need - my fear is running into a mandatory upgrade before we get a new version that's stable under Wine / PoL / whatever apple currently uses.

The lock up described in the other post has been (very very occasionally) present for a long while (year+?) but is so rare that you just restart & go. It always takes place soon after starting.
