Hello,

I would like to request a demo account, do I do that here or with my broker, Mirus Futures. Second, how do I connect a data feed?

Thanks,

You already have a valid and activated Sierra Chart account. We see you have installed Sierra Chart and have successfully logged in.

Do you want futures data, Forex data, or what?

ok good. How do I set up my data feed for one of these.
My broker is Mirus, but I am also on a trial for IQ Feed.

Is there a free data feed option either during the trial period and or beyond the trial period?

To use IQ Feed with Sierra Chart, refer to the set up instructions here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/DTNIQFeed.html#Setup

There is no free data feed after the trial. For what is included with the trial, refer to:

Ok good, without confusing things any further here is a quick update of how I ended up here.

I am in forum, http://forum.leprivatebanker.com/ and they strongly recommend using Sierra Chart. After watching all of the Optimus videos on using SC, I agree this is a great platform.

Chatting with the forum founder he also suggest I use the following data package along with SC package 5.
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php

Could you please help me get set up with these option.

Thanks very much in advance!

OK we understand.

So your broker is Mirus? Do you have a live trading account with them yet?

OK good. Could you contact them and have them set you up on the CTS T4 backend trading platform that Sierra Chart supports. Say that you are using Sierra Chart and you want to connect it to CTS T4 and have them set you up with that.

Hi,

I am in the process of switching brokers (to AMP). So, I'm sort of in between brokers and charting service at present (also will be leaving MD). Is there any way I can view futures data until everything is complete. I only need ES for now as I just want to learn how to use and navigate around SC.

AMP says they do not do demo account for SC.

We can provide you with historical futures data only. Exchanges tightly control the real-time data. Either you pay substantial fees to access the real-time data or you have a trading account. And this time, we do not support paying separate exchange fees for the CME data with the Sierra Chart data feed.

To use the historical data provided, refer to the instructions here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartHistoricalData.html

That is fine for now until my funds are transferred to AMP, at that time I will be registering for:

http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php
This will be the data feed I want to use in my live account.

All I want to do now is get started on just being able to look at SC charts, learn what studies are available and how to apply them, especially the profile and tpo charts?

Will this, historical futures data only, help me get started to learn how to set up templates and layouts

Hi,
thanks, I think I got it to work. I can open charts and see data for ES and CL and some currencies.
Though, I believe the data I am seeing is delayed, which is fine for now. All I want to do now is become familiar with the platform.

Thanks.

The historical data will be delayed about 10 to 30 minutes. Just let us know if you need more help.

Hi,

just curious, is this a public thread? Is it viewable by others?

I found the instructions for changing chart background and bar colours, is it possible to change the border colours of a chart. On my screen the very top of the window is black and transparent (this is above the Edit | Chart |... menu row).

Also how do I save a chart? Edit -> screen images -> .... not sure what happens from here? Upload chart, where did it upload to?

http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?l=1391145389250.png
Ok, I found this option. It saves with on sierrachart.com, ok. See here in this image the top line where it reads SC [Sim} ESH4 1 day .... can I change the background colour in this line (border)? I'm trying to remove the transparency so it is easier to read.

Thanks.

1. The thread is public, but it can be hidden.

For private account related support, we recommend using our Support Ticket system here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/usercp.php?page=SupportTickets

2. Window captions (what you are referring to) are controlled by the operating system. To remove the Transparency, refer to:
http://www.ghacks.net/2010/12/20/how-to-disable-windows-aero-transparency-in-windows-7/

3. The image is saved on the Sierra Chart server. For more information, refer to:

Thank you the borders transparency was very helpful not only for charting but my computer, LOL. Thanks.
So learned how to use Global settings to customize the chart background, bars, and candlestick colours. How do I set it that all charts always open with candlestick instead of bars?

I like detaching chart from the main hub but when I do that it does not have a tool bar anymore. is it possible to have one on detached charts?
Thanks.

Glad to help.

1. To set default settings for Chart Settings, refer to the documentation here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_ChartSettings.html#DefaultSettings

2. No, toolbars cannot be attached to detached charts, but you can have a detached/floating toolbar:

My broker is AMP Futres, and they offer AMP/TTnet as a free data feed for Sierra Chart. I know you pay for what you get, but could you advise what is the difference between this data feed and http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php

I intend to be on package 5 for order flow analysis, TPO, and profiling.
Thanks.
