Really what you are looking for is a volume-based rollover not the official technical rollover. This is why the automatic rollover option really is not recommended. And the documentation we linked to above, explains everything in detail.

the future contract displayed with automatic rollover on is YMU0

I get a message symbol needs rollover

when i put automatic rollover on, the contract is changed in YMU0

thank you for your help

hello
got same problem today with ES and MES - had on rollover by volume, contracts was changed on September, but its volume still much lower then June.
Then I changed rollover type to "date", saved all, closer and reopened terminal - same, contracts was changed again from june to september - no logic at all.
Terminal was updated yesterday.

The default Rollover Method is wrong. You have to customize it (CQG)

The default rollover rule is correct. It is the official rollover rule.

The easiest solution is to increase this setting:
General Settings Window: Additional Days to Add to Rollover Date for Chart and Quote Board Rollovers (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Charts)

Or just disable the automatic rollover option.
