Hello,

was wondering if you guys would consider providing support for a new function. I am using a number bars chart to see printed bid ask volume and a Market depth Historical graph study to see larger bids and offers that may or may not print. however, I can make the study highlight large bids/offers and the study highlights the entire portion of the bar, same as the number bar with a volume component, for example. this is great unless you are already using a footprint chart with a volume profile component built in, because then you would have multiple colours trying to fill the same bar. my suggestion would be to have a range min/range max for the individual numbers, not just the bar. similar to what is offered in the number bar to highlight buy/sell imbalances. the study does offer the option in highlighting quantity numbers, however, it is incapable of highlighting those numbers in order to differentiate between bids and offers. I have seen many use the Market depth Historical graph study in conjunction with the number bars but not exactly like I am using it. however, I think the option to highlight just the numbers alone in order to differentiate between bids and offers would be helpful to many. thank you in advance for your time!

It is not clear specifically the study you are wanting to do something different with. Are you referring to Market Depth Historical Graph or Numbers Bars?

However, it sounds like what you want to do is already fully supported with both studies. Refer to the documentation for them. Specifically the Inputs section. Refer to:

sorry, i was only mentioning number bars study to explain why it may be beneficial to add in my request to the market depth historical graph study, since ive seen many sierra chart users use both at the same time, as well as myself. the issue i'm having with the current market depth historical graph study is that when i use it on the same chart as the number bars, the coloring of the volume profile within the individual number bars, overlaps with the coloring within the 'bars' (or ticks i suppose) of the market depth historical graph study. in order to solve the overlapping problem of having the two studies, i suggest putting in a range color or highlight function for BOTH SIDES (bid and offer) for the TEXT of the market depth historical graph study. as far as i know, currently you can only color the full bar for the bid/offer. currently, you can also color the TEXT of the market depth historical graph study but in only two different colors that provides the ability to highlight size. however, it would be far more convenient to be able to differentiate the size of the bid and the offer, same as you can do with the study currently but only the bars and not the text. in the market depth historical graph studies the function to change the color's of the text are named 'quantity numbers color' and 'secondary numbers color for quantities greater than or equal to'. if i was able to have that exact same function but separate colors for the bid/offer that would be awesome.

This is too hard to follow. There is too much text bunched together and too much information here.

i am just suggesting the ability to color the text of the bid and offer seperately on the market depth historical graph study.

We happen to be doing some work in the Market Depth Historical Graph right now, so we will see if we can add this in. But we cannot make any promises about whether this will get done or not.

We had a chance to get to this, so it will be in the next Pre-Release (v 2120). There are now 2 primary coloring options - "Bid Quantity Numbers Color" and "Ask Quantity Numbers Color". If you set a value for "Use Secondary Numbers Color for Quantities Greater Than or Equal To" then that secondary color will be used for both Bid and Ask depths.

When available, you can update using the Fast Update option. Refer to the information here:
