1. I fired up sierra chart on saturday with all my markets closed and my CPU is still being utilized just as much
as if the market was actually open. MY cpu says 9 % for sierra and 9 % for the sierra sub instance. this is not out of the normal realm during the day with a bunch of charts streaming data but right now it is getting little new data streamed.
IS THIS NORMAL or is something corrupted on my end and should i save averything and possibly do a reinstall of sierra chart and or should i wipe my trading compter clean and do a whole new install of windows and sierra?

If i do a fesh install is it possible that using current saved files will just reinstall the issues if there are some issues?
I also have thousands of demo account trades that have not been wiped clean could this also add to resource usage?

2. if i wanted my sierra chart to be as fast as possible would you recommend the absolute best way possible? i know you have a directive on this about resources hogging etc. but if I have 6 screens which of these would give me the FASTEST and "best" layout.

1. 6 sierra charts running at once. 1 on each screen so i would need 3 licenses
2. 2 screens for each full sierra chart plus 1 screen each on a new instance for each full sierra chart?
3. 2 screens for each full sierra chart plus 2 screens for 1 sub instance of one of my full fldged sierra chart?

I hope this is not too complicated to understand. i am just looking to reduce the resource usage as much as possible at this point
without purchasing another license but purchasing another license is not out of the question.

some guidance would be appreciated in this realm and more than just hey read this directive please.
From your knowledfe would you say running separate full sierras versus full sierras and instances is better just really mixed up but
i want to utilize what I am allowed to do and i am allowed 2 full fledged sierra correct.

Currently I am running 1 sierra chart full on 4 screens and 1 sub instance on 2 screens?

THANK YOU and have a great weeekend.

We can only refer you to:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

Also refer to:
Sierra Chart Purchase and License Information: Licensing / Number of Systems

You do not need multiple licenses.

You can have many tens of copies of Sierra Chart on the same system running at the same time with a single license.

Try to set chart update interval higher, e.g. to 250 ms or so. This way the CPU load gets reduced BUT your charts only get 4 updates per second. If you need to have faster updates which most daytraders do I would suggest to try out OpenGL to utilize the GPU instead of CPU just for basic chart rendering.

I struggled long time until I switched to OpenGL. I bought a nice and expensive workstation with an high performance CPU but still Sierra was not running smooth. Especially when you use a Market Depth Historical chart with an update interval less than 100ms and try to manage orders from this chart. Problem is 90% of Sierras load is only done on one Core so this core will always be maxed out. Take a look in your ressource manager to see the single cores usage.

Open GL with a nice GPU - all good now.
