Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM) When choosing an account thats using CQG API through one of the supported clearing firms - 4 accounts show up ( which is correct ) - but they all have the same "name". Clearing firm stated that they can't change the name as it has to legally match the account - so I'm looking for a setting that I'm not aware of in Sierra or some guidance for the clearing firm to correct/adjust. CQG is sending the account info. Is it possible Sierra isn't using the right field to populate the dropdown ? Maybe its using the account name instead of account # ? Account name must be the lega name of the acccount holder - so they can't changet that - I already asked. |

We did look into this, and yes Sierra Chart does list the account name and not the internal account identifier. The clearing firm just needs to add some additional text onto the account names like Acc1, Acc2, Acc3 to differentiate them. We would not think this would be a problem for them to do and would really only make sense. Otherwise, how else are you supposed to differentiate the accounts when you are looking at them by name. Post above has been updated. We removed the mention of FIX Tag 1. We do not think the account name we are using with the CQG Web API is the same as FIX Tag 1. FIX uses a separate tag for the account name. Let us know how this works out. If they are refusing to change the names, we can try to work out some other solution. Clearing firm stated account name can't be modified for legal resasons - it has to be THE name on the account. I don't see it yet in 2103 (pre-release) - installed it today. |

It has been released. Select Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings. Set Use Trade Account IDs Instead of Names to True/enabled.
