Stop-Limit orders are not supported when using FXCM from Sierra Chart. They are not supported with FXCM FIX.

I have changed this in real-time, but in simulated mode, this setting gives me stop orders instead of limit orders. The trade window shows a limit order. Have I overlooked a setting?

We are not understanding the latest post. What setting are you referring to?

For further understanding: I use the chart trade dom. I have been trading in simulated mode which has been allowing me to use a stop-limit even though in live mode, SC does not support such. Accordingly, I decided to switch the simulated to only allow limit orders as can be set with two settings using the trade window. Attached is one pic of the setting. The other setting is through the button on the trade window M-Orders-Use stop-limit orders on chart dom. Since I have clicked off this setting, the simulated mode now carries out stop orders. I have yet to try a live order and thankfully so, since it might also be carried out as a stop which means a market order if the price is touched. I really need to understand this before trading live.

On FXCM the Stop orders are just going to be Stop orders. And if you use Stop orders when using simulation mode, then that will be a way to simulate what you will experience when trading through FXCM.

You can also use this simulation service to trade Forex:

Please allow me to be clear: I use either a stop-limit or limit to enter the market not a stop(market) order. The trade window is set for limit, but a stop order is being placed instead.

Is there any way to know the FXCM spread during replay?

I am currently trying to check if the price is being adjusted to incorporate the spread costs.

How are you entering the limit order which is then becoming a stop order?

Yes the spread is easily determined just by looking at the Bid and Ask prices during the replay which can be seen in the Window >> Current Quote Window.

I always use the chart trade dom to place trades with a left click. The trade window is configured for a limit order with a bracket order(target and stop-loss). I have sent a pic of the setting on the trade window. I have described the setting for the chart trade dom. If there any other settings causing this to happen, then I am oblivious to them.

It does not matter what the order type is on the Trade Window. Only the Attached Order settings on the Trade Window would be applicable in this case.

Instead you need to use the order type settings in the Chart DOM Settings window:

I changed the settings and strangely, a buy limit above market price or sell limit below market price are automatically carried out even though the limit prices are not met. On the flip side, a buy stop above market price or sell stop below market price are left waiting for the respective prices to be met. I have attached also a pic showing the execution in the editing mode. 1.60490 was the limit price which was never touched, but automatically carried out at 1.60445. A third pic indicates the price limit and the actual execution on the chart
