currently there seem to be two options for submission of Orders FROM SC (the client side software package) to the futures markets:

1. Option 1

SC (client side software package) -> SC Order Routing -> TradingTechnologies -> Futures Exchanges

Sierra Chart / Trading Technologies Futures Order Routing Service

2. Option 2

SC (client side software package) -> TradingTechnologies -> Futures Exchanges

Question: Why would one ever want to use Option 1 instead of what seems to be the more straightforward Option 2?

2. This set up will cost at least 100 USD a month from the TT side and the setup is very complicated and involved and will take days to set up and completely beyond the ability of the average user. It is not something meant for end-user use. It is for institutional use only.

And it does not offer historical order fills maintenance, server-side OCO or bracket orders and other limitations.

So really we do not see any point in using it. We would never recommend it to anyone even including an institution. If there is an institution who wants to use Sierra Chart, we would still use the Sierra Chart order routing model, but set them up a dedicated order routing server and process and FIX user.

ok i get the order fill history, OCO etc, thank you for that

re the "complexity" - the description found here, doesn't sound too complicated, so where does the complexity come from? Is the complexity related to configuring SC to work with TT or e.g. opening TT account via e.g. AMP Futures ?

https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/TradingTechnologies.php

finally, when you said 100 USD cost for TT - did you mean the cost of order execution ONLY or you also factored in Market Data from TT and if the latter is the case, then why not order the TT account without Market Data (as also advised in the above link)?

and one final question - is the SC order routing now fully live ie it is out there for real / production purposes and supports all of the following (right now): CME, Eurex, ICE USA

so where does the complexity come from?
Okay go ahead and help all the users on this Support Board with direct TT connectivity and you will see where it is very complicated. You will be struggling with users, and with clearing firms. You are not going to be happy at all.

We are referring to the cost of just order routing only. TT charges a monthly fee of 50 USD for a TT user and then there is the REST API cost and that might be as little as 50 a month (This is where we get the 100 from). But it might be higher. We pay 250USD a month for REST with the number of queries we perform.

If you want market data from TT over FIX that is another 250 a month.

is the SC order routing now fully live ie it is out there for real / production purposes and supports all of the following (right now): CME, Eurex, ICE USA
Yes and this has been the case for a year now.

do you have AT LEAST ONE user/client who has been successfully through the following setup and is currently still operational:

1. Clearing Firm - AMP Futures

2. Order Routing - SC

finally, what is the end to end / turnaround time for setting up the above (ie by working with AMP Futures and SC)

ps: fyi, for some reason, AMP on their web site refers only to Rithmic, TT and CQG as their Order Routing partners, there is no mentioning of SC as such, only the SC trading/charting platform is mentioned

also please find attached a screenshot with the Order Routing Options for AMP Futures - which one of them (if any) is the SC as the Order Routing Provider (ie not just charting platform)?

for AMP Futures i have discovered some further information which may be helpful

https://support.ampglobal.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042515233

fyi i am interested in the option where i REUSE my existing SC account and SC Package and my SC Data (the full SC data feed covering CME, Eurex and ICE USA). So it seems that i am supposed to NOT request Order Routing via AMP (as a new client / account without any
order routing setup as of yet) and just proceed with the SC Order Routing Form here and then SC will liaise with AMP to setup everything

https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=SCOrderRoutingServiceTradingAccountAssignmentRequestForm

and hence IGNORE this AMP form:

https://clients.ampfutures.com/live-trading-setup-request

Is the above the correct Process, especially for New Clients / Accounts of AMP without any existing Order Routing setup with them as if yet

ps: i come from IB background (one stop shop but crazy margins) and i must say such "decomposition" between Clearing Firm and Order Routing provider seems rather "unusual" to me but i will get used to it

fyi i also found out from AMP that the SC Order Routing via TT doesnt support ICE USA because TT doesnt support them - is that correct ?

They told me that out of CME, Eurex and ICE USA, the only futures exchanges possible are CME and Eurex?
