Regarding the integration of IB with SC for equities trading, is the issue with receiving data from IB or actual trade execution as well? If you subscribe to the Sierra Chart Exchange data feed can you execute through IB or do you need to use IB data to execute with IB? I'm trying to figure out where the complications that people experience comes from. IF you do not use IB for data does that solve the issue? Thank you.

There will be problems with both. The issue is mainly regarding symbol mappings. But with the recent changes we have done for US equities Symbol mappings for interactive Brokers hopefully will not be much of an issue. Yes you can. The main thing to be sure about is that when you are using a particular stock symbol, make sure you use the same symbol consistently. Do not use more than one variation of it. Follow-up clarification to my previous question: Can you receive data from SC and execute through IB? - With the recent updates, symbol mapping should no longer be an issue correct? - Could you please clarify what should be selected in the Data/Trade Service Settings. - Data/Trade Service Settings should have Interactive Brokers selected - Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds enabled. - For general purpose knowledge, if you are subscribed to a Sierra real time data feed and you have "Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds" enabled, is it assumed that the data is always going to be coming from your Sierra data feed and not the trading service data feed? - You do not need to have "SC Data - All Services" or "SC Futures Order Routing/Data" selected to receive the Sierra real time data feeds. - When "Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds" is enabled, are you also receiving data from IB or is the data strictly coming from Sierra (clearly I am not a programmer so sorry if these questions are a bit stupid).
