Dear Support

Please would you confirm any changes to toolbar 8 over the last few versions.

On updating to version 2060 and changing all of my hardware/CPU etc. etc. after it was clearly the cause of sierra crashing/locking due to high-demands I've noticed toolbar 8 has again changed and the button text either no longer represents the underlying text / font or something is causing much larger button text and thus associated button size.

I do note 'custom text' properties now sports a point size (no reference to font which is via set custom text) .. is this the culprit?

No complaints as it would be very useful if this is the case however I'd just like to now exactly what has changed so I can recover the original toolbar layout/dimensions.

Many thanks

This is not clear for us.

You can control the text size:
Control Bar: Control Bar Buttons Size and Text Size

And you are right you can also control text size individually for each button now.

We will check on the font size for custom text drawing buttons.

My apologies.

V2052 customise control bar 8 >> custom text drawing // Properties >> "top line"
Button Caption; Button description; Color; Caption/Image.

V2060 customise control bar 8 >> custom text drawing // Properties >> "top line"
Button Caption; Button description; [Point Size]; Color; Caption/Image.

All of my custom text buttons no longer reflect the underlying font size/color as in V2052, the buttons and text are now much larger.

I have noticed a new parameter [Point Size] and would like to confirm it's purpose before making changes - just in case my sierra3.cfg file is corrupt. The ability to reflect the underlying font size/color on the toolbar button is imperative but I can see value in also having over-riding control of the button text itself.

Many thanks in advance.

We did look into this, and previously for Custom Text Drawing buttons, the font size for the text on the associated Control Bar button would be controlled by the font size of that custom text specified.

Inadvertently, that was getting overridden by the default Control Bar button text size, and you also have the ability to control the text size in the Control Bar Button Properties window.

And we realize it is best just to have one method of controlling the font size and that is through the Control Bar Button properties window. So effective as of the current version, you need to control the text size either using the global font used for control bar buttons or through the Point Size field in the Control Bar Button Properties.

And if that is 0 , then the default global size is used instead.

Okay that's sound excellent.
If the underlying buttons text size is 9 then using [point size 9] will once again emulate that.
Which is exactly what happens. I've just checked that and it works perfectly.
Really useful to have that control/flexibility.
Many thanks!
