Hello,
I believe that Sierra recommends to use the download version of IB to use with Sierra.
My experience is that the download version goes off line sometimes. This makes me nervous becaue it can cause problems for intraday trading.
Will Sierra work with online version of IB?
Thank you
charlie

I use the download version of TWS and it never goes offline.

What you can have is that there is some interruption of a certain Datafeed and TWS gives you a notice 'bleep' but most of the time this is one of the farms that is been restarted. I almost never in years and years of TWS trading encoutered a CME feed halt that wasn't all over the world.

Thanks YSS,
I have to display my ignorance. What is a 'farm' and what does it mean that 'it has been restarted'?
I do notice the 'bleep'.
Could this be a problem with my internet connection?
Thanks again,
charlie

Sierra Chart will work with any version of Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation that provides a socket connection for its API.
