Send Child Stop to Exchange Before Parent Fills

May I please optionally send the child stop to rest on the exchange (with a quantity of 1 in this case) once I put in my limit order?

If the market blows past me, I'd find comfort in knowing a stop was resting on the exchange versus my client-side having to update an order first.

Attached.

This is the whole idea behind a server-side bracket order which is supported with this service:
Sierra Chart / Trading Technologies Futures Order Routing Service

Also supported with Interactive Brokers.

We would not add the capability to send an Attached Order before the parent fills.

The basis of our answer, is that there is already a very well-established method by which client-side managed bracket orders work and that is not something we would change without very careful consideration.

It would seem logical that the parent order would have to fully fill before the stop order could be reached in which case the stop order could be set to the full quantity. But then it would have to be reduced in quantity if the parent order only partially fills.

Anyway, we will look this over and consider if the implementation is not difficult.

Of course this can be managed manually, but it sure would be nice to have the attached orders features.

Another vote for this please. If the exchange offers a reduce only condition, you can set that when placing the order and then the order quantity can be set at a unfeasibly high number to cover all eventualities but will have no effect beyond closing the full position.

Given the volatility I always set a SL first before opening a position when trading manually.

Would you please consider adding the option to immediately send the stops to sit at the exchange? I'm imagining a scenario where SC is managing a limit order on the book, say overnight, but the network or software disconnects..

There would be a potential fill and unprotected position.

Yes we still need time to look into this and we have not gotten to it yet. It has to be very carefully implemented.
