I'm looking to have my automated trading system in Sierra Charts send orders to my Tradovate broker account. I reached out to Tradovate support asking if they support OCO orders sent from Sierra Charts. There response was "We offer Sierra Chart as a third party platform but since they have not developed into our API, it would be connected directly to CQG. You would need to check with Sierra Chart how OCO orders are handled when using CQG as the connection and see if these OCO orders are kept client side or not."

Does anyone know if CQG supports OCO orders from Sierra Charts?

Yes server-side OCO orders are supported with CQG but not server-side bracket orders.

Really we recommend you use this service instead of CQG:
Sierra Chart / Trading Technologies Futures Order Routing Service

So you will have server-side bracket orders.

Hello. I am satisfied with the ability of SC and GAIN to handle server-side brackets, but I'm looking switch brokers to save on commissions.

That being said, reliability is more important than commissions. I do not wish to have any platform issues.

I have an belief that when placing 000s of trades, Tradeovate's commission schedule with the SC Order Routing Service will have considerable savings over any broker with a connection via GAIN.

Is the sc order routing service with Tradeovate using or bypassing CQG?

Am I jumping from the pan to the fire by making this kind of switch?

@Bedhog SC Order Routing Service uses TT (Trading technologies) for execution, so I doubt it is compatible with the Tradovate/CQG based system.

Sierra suggested there may be other comparable brokers out there, but they haven't been specific in saying who. Lacking any specifics, for now it appears that Tradovate is the least expensive commissions, to the best available knowledge.

Bedhog, we have contacted Tradovate previously and they will not support the SC / TTFIX Order Routing Service, we regret this stance, but they have their own reasons.

We have many partners who are happy to support this service, and we are grateful for them; the feedback related to the quality of Denali Data + SC TTFIX Order Routing is extremely positive, and we work hard everyday to validate their choice to support us.

Hi SC, which partner(s) are competitive with Tradovate's commission model (fixed rate of $200/month, no other commission for unlimited volume)? Certainly AMP is not.

Are you referring to: $199/mo pre-paid annually? (so plus (1) $0.09 for clearing + (2) NFA Fees + (3) Exchange Fees)?

You would have to speak to each partner individually to see if anyone can compete there, they each should have a good idea of what Tradovate is doing and be able to offer an alternative.

Well hopefully, when the Small Exchange gets operational and we are really very happy about that and we have always known that a new alternative exchange to the CME Group, is absolutely necessary, then all of this is going to be beside the point. Although we are not sure of the costs trading on that exchange.

Can I follow up with the mention of the Small Exchange here and also a question about the CQG/FIX vs Tradovate API?

1 Does Sierra Chart support Small Exchange Tickers: https://smallexchange.com/
Tradovate plans to support it and the market data is free: https://tradovate.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049025413-Will-Tradovate-offer-the-underlying-index-prices-for-the-Small-Exchange-futures-

2. Has Sierra Chart considered implementing the API to trade directly with Tradovate rather than using CQG?
TradingView offers a direct connection with Tradovate, so it it would be great if Sierra Chart had something similar.

Thank you.

1. Yes. We will set up the symbols. And we are also working on our own direct integration to the Small Exchange along with the CME. This will become available later in the year or early next year.

2. No, we cannot allocate time to this and we have already discussed this with Tradovate. Our position on this is stated in post #1 here:

1. Thank you. That's great for supporting the Small Exchange.

2. Great. I'll post over on Tradovate to see if they can handle the DTC protocol if there are enough traders to make it make sense.
