v2028, TT/SC Routing, Denali Feed, brand new high end system with 9th gen i7, SSD, 300Mbps bandwidth connection, multiple instances, etc.

1. If historical download on background thread, why does SC UI freeze with the hourglass cursor until downloading and loading of chart is complete? How can this be prevented?

2. When downloading large historical data, time to download is pretty long/slow, how can it be sped up?

3. How can one automatically download historical data for a list of symbols, similar to intraday file update list?

1. This would be caused by Study Calculations. Refer to:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

Really what you need to do is close your Chartbook and let the downloads complete without the chartbook. Just open a single chart without any studies for each symbol that you want to download.

3. This can be done through the associated watchlist:

How can one automatically download historical data for all symbols in an associated watch list, without manually clicking through each one after waiting for each to complete?

Could it be made possible to automate the downloads for all historical symbols, like it is for Intraday with Global Intraday File Update List? Without having to initiate a Scan or manually click Download Daily Data for watchlist.
