I am practicing simulated trading with SC data. I have two questions:

In the trade window on the Main tab I have Time in Force as Good till Canceled. Trading on the chart, when I click on Buy Market the confirmation says Time in Force: Day. Stops and Limit orders say Good till Cancelled. Is this how it's supposed to be?

When I have an open position with a pending stop order and a pending limit order, when one of those orders is executed the other pending order does not cancel. Shouldn't it cancel automatically?

I have read through the documentation but cannot find what I'm doing wrong. I'm using Market orders to open positions and not using any attached orders.

Most likely you are looking at the wrong Trade Window. Refer to:

Yes. Then these must not be Attached Orders. You need to use Attached Orders:
