Can I use a customized calculation for the Numbers Chart background coloring method/ranges

Hello,

For the numbers charts, I would like the color to be based on the side that is dominant between AskVol and BidVol, but I would like the up and down ranges to be determined by taking the difference (delta) between the AskVol and BidVol and comparing that delta to the deltas for all other prices in the bar. In this way, the color will be determined by dominance and the shade will be determined by relative delta. I don't see a setting like that, so I was curious...is there way to use a my own manual calculation to determine the ranges?

Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in answering this, we just lost track of it.

The first thing to state is there is not a way to create a manual calculation for the Numbers Bars study.

But, that being said, it sounds like the Input for Background Coloring Method of Based on AskVol BidVol Difference - Actual is what you are looking for. This lets you set the coloring based on the actual values of the deltas. Refer to the following:

Thank you for the clarification. That is very close to what I was looking for. I'd like it to be based on the AskVol BidVol Difference - %, (i.e., the difference relative to the other prices in the bar) and not actual, but I guess I'll have to go with "Based on AskVol BidVol Difference - Actual"

We will see if we can add a couple of options for displaying the Ask Vol Bid Vol Difference as a Percentage. If we get this done easily, we will post here to let you know.

We have added a new Background and Text Coloring option named "Based On AskVol BidVol Difference Percentage of Max Dominant Side". This will be in next release - v. 2032.

This coloring uses the delta at price divided by the Highest delta in the entire bar to determine the percentage for the Ask side and colors the background/text using the Up colors if the Ask is dominant at that price. It then uses the delta at price divided by the Lowest delta in the entire bar to determine the percentage for the Bid side and colors the background/text using the Down colors if the Bid is dominant at that price.

Hopefully this will give you what you are looking for. There are several ways to deal with this, but this gives you the ability to set percentages that would be valid for both the Ask and the Bid side simultaneously.

We will be working on the documentation over the next day or two.
