My CQG FIX service connection in the pull-down menu of my Data/Trade Service Settings window has disappeared twice (in two separately installed instances of the platform) after I have selected it. Then afterwards I noticed that I had been switched automatically to CQG WebAPI and that the CQG FIX option was totally gone from the pull-down menu.

afaik CQG fix is no longer supported on either end. You should be able to use the same account info in the WebAPI though.

That's not what I heard from a different trader in a chat room. According to him, he can still connect to CQG FIX and he showed me a copy of his log that proves it.

Must depend on the version then. Sierra Chart are no longer supporting CQG FIX and from next month will require Package 5 to use CQG WEBAPI. Suggest moving to TT, I am doing that this week.

@T44 What are your thoughts on the previous and recent TT problems also?

Re: #2; My FIX login credentials don't work for WebAPI routing (without broker intervention)

@User379468 I'm going to be running Sierra for charts & proprietary ASCIL/spreadsheet studies and either TT desktop or CQG Integrated Client if there are any problems with the Sierra+TT order routing. Hopefully that won't become necessary.

I understand the Sierra Chart Engineering POV - not wanting to spread development time inter-operating with many (buggy) third party interfaces. However I'd like as few dependencies as possible in my trading and if it wasn't for the TT sunsetting it next year, I'd be replacing CQG WEBAPI with X_Trader.

Regarding broker-issued FIX credentials, I originally requested CQG FIX from my broker (Advantage Fut) many years ago because of the complaints I read back then regarding CQG WebAPI and hence, that's what I got! Since then I don't recall ever having any problems with my CQG FIX connection or the SC platform performance on my high-end machine until the day we switched over to version 1988 and I noticed that my SC application had slowed down dramatically - v1987 was still fine. At that point I didn't know what to make of the situation so I reported it to SC engineering but that went no where of course because that can be a highly complex issue that they can't control. Then it occurred to me that perhaps my SC program had gotten corrupted somehow or a file accidentally deleted and that's when I first noticed that my CQG FIX connection was gone and that I had been "automatically" connected to CQG WebAPI. Now I'm not trying to establish cause-and-effect here with limited data but simply point out an observation/correlation. Regardless, I went ahead an installed a fresh instance of the program last week and I was relieved to see that the CQG FIX option was showing up again in the drop-down menu under Data/Trade Service Settings. However, something weird happened after that when I closed the program for the day. The next day the CQG FIX option was mysteriously gone from the drop-down menu and I was "auto-connected" once again to the CQG WebAPI. And that's where things stand right now using the latest version of the program, 2004.

I forgot to add that I'm still using package 5.
