Hi,

i am running SC with 2 monitors. my layout is:

- Main window on monitor #1
- Detached window on 2 monitor #2

And this is the same for 2 chartbooks i have. When i switch from one chartbook to the other, the layout changes, and the detached window and the main one appears on the same monitor, which is very annoying :)

is there any way to make it fixed so that i dont have to move the detached window every time i switch from one chartbook to the other?

thanks

Sierra Chart is not moving chart windows around. This does not happen. This capability does not even exist in the program. Other than when a window is created when opening a Chartbook. It restores the chart window to the prior position.

This is not going to make a difference but try disabling this option:
General Settings Window: Destroy Chart Windows when Hidden (Global Settings >> General Settings >> GUI >> Application GUI)

We also cannot reproduce the issue either. What it sounds like though is that when the window is shown or created, the operating system is thinking it is offscreen and then moving it to a visible monitor. There used to be code like this within Sierra Chart that would do that but that has all been removed because occasionally we would have reports like this, but we also knew in some cases these reports were not due to that functionality.

which option is more efficient?
1. main window on monitor 1 & a few detached charts on monitor 2
or
2. maximize main sc window across 2 monitors & all charts inside main window

Probably 2 but that is hard to say. When using OpenGL 1 would be better.
