Thank you but I downloaded and upgraded using the .zip approach and am no longer able to launch Sierra to access the download manager. Do you happen to have a direct link to the zip file? Looks like online you only keep the last month or so of releases: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SCZipInstallerList.php . I am going to build a dedicated machine to Sierra next month but still need to order parts and will be a month or so. Unfortunately I can't open it at all after the upgrade (I know I should have backed it up but before hand but I was lazy, thought I could revert no problem).

@yellowandy: It's actually possible to run more recent versions of Sierra Chart but you need to manually start the 32 bit version. Just make sure that you start the right "exe file" from the terminal. (see above) Date Time Of Last Edit: 2020-04-12 00:16:01

Mack, I get the following: wine64 SierraChart.exe wine: Bad EXE format for C:\SierraChart\SierraChart.exe. That's with MacOS Catalina and wine 4.0.2. Will try updating wine later to see if that makes a difference.

Hi Yellowandy, Apple has dropped 32bit support with the release of OSX Catalina (10.15.x) BUT. There are still options! I haven't tested this myself though: 1. Install wine 5 on Catalina, but stick to the 64 bit 2021 build of SC. You need 64 bit because your OS is 64 bit. 2. Install Crossover 19 and run the 32 bit 2083 of Sierra. Can Confirm Mojave with Wine 5 + Build 2163 works if u use the 32Bit exe. Also if ur Fonts are kinda off .... GoTo Global Graphic settings in Sierra -> Fonts and set every single point back to Defaults. Mac OS kinda screws with the fonts and trys to replace it with an apple font. I am using Sierra Chart with Parallels 16 in Big Sur and Catalina. It works very fast no perfomance issues at all. I have compressed Intraday Data files (older than one week). I would recommend Coherence Mode (windowed). Specs: Intel i9-7900X (10 core) + 32GB RAM Date Time Of Last Edit: 2020-10-26 12:19:43

@mpro Thanks for the info, wonder if your data feed app Windows or Mac? I am not sure if Sierra Chart in Parallels would be able to communicate with a Mac app via API?

All in windows VM. I am using a hackintosh. I noticed that my VM perfomance increased when running with VT-D enabled. I don't know how it is with normal mac. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2020-10-26 15:56:02

i believe sierra chart 2166 is the last version supporting 32 bit. so 2166 should work under 32 bit

Version 2164 and above do not un on mac using either Wine or Crossover. I have never been able to get the 64 bit version of any sierra versions to run on Mac with Wine. as 32 bit version of mac was disabled at sierra version 2177, iam unable to upversion my charts to the most recent version. Stuck at 2164 version on mac.

I added the Log file, this happens since 2164 version on Mac. Wine has not changed and aim still on Mojave every version before 2164 works perfectly.

Sorry but this is not possible as it crashes before login. It has not even created a sierra cfg. I tried coping a different sierra cfg with log enabled but it wont get that far

ok i have figured out with some trouble shooting how to install version 2215 using crossover on mac. Iam using the following tools: macbook with Bigsur OS Cross over version 20.0 When you create a bottle you need to create the bottle with Windows 10 ( 64 bit version). This does not work with Windows 7 (64 bit ) bottle. 64 bit is to be used as new Sierra chart versions > 2177 support only 64 bit. once the bottle is created you just have to search for sierra chart and install the latest version ( by default). it downloads the latest version by default. let me know if you run into any issues. Its working with big sur and i believe it will work with other older versions like catalina, high sierra and Mojave.
