Slow responses when managing charts

My system has been running satisfactorily for quite a while - this morning instructions onto the charts started lagging 2-10 seconds. My internet is working normally and I changed the battery in my mouse. Also cleared cache and reset modem. The lag includes drawing functions - trendlines etc. I really don't know how to resolve issue - any advice, please?
