Hello,

I was directed by my broker (Joe Easton @ Cannon Trading) to reach out to you regarding the problem I'm having adding a custom study to the charts. I purchased an indicator from a third party and their tech support believes the reason it won't load is the "VC value level" is preventing the indicator from loading. Below is the email I sent my broker. Can you please assist.

Hi Joe,

I was directed to reach out to you by tech support from a company I purchased a study from. I'm getting an error message when I try to install the advanced study. He says the VC value levels file is the suspected problem. He tried remotely to delete the file but it could not be deleted. He also tried moving it but that was also unsuccessful. Can you direct me to who I might reach out to? Below is a screenshot of the error message. Please advise.

Thank You,

Greg Mills

Exit from Sierra Chart and then go to C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA\Data in your operating system file Explorer. You should see a DLL file with a name like "VC value level" . Delete that file. If that is causing some unknown problem, then it should be resolved.

Hello,
I deleted the VC value level file from the Data folder after exiting the platform. I then restarted my computer and opened the platform. However, when I tried to add my custom study, the VC value level file gets added back to the data folder by the platform. Please advise if you need additional info.
Thank You,
Greg Mills

Hello,
The exact name of the file I've tried deleting is "VCValueLevels.dll"
When I log in to the platform, I get the following on the message log...
"The advanced custom study C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA\Data\VCValueLevels.dll version is unsupported.
The message also is present when opening the "Add custom study".
Thank You Again for your assistance.

We see this file is being provided apparently as part of a list of files from Infinity but we have to check on that. We will remove it for all users.

However, this message indicates that it is not causing any problem:

"The advanced custom study C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA\Data\VCValueLevels.dll version is unsupported.

We have now removed "VCValueLevels.dll". You can now delete it and you will no longer automatically get it.
